He Chose Her, I Took Back Everything Chapter 06

Helena’s POV

“Babe, just listen to me. There’s nothing going on between me and Chloe. She’s fresh out of school I’m her

boss. Of course I look out for her.”

His face was still pinned to the wall, but the fight had leaked out of his voice.

“Besides, her driving is for the company. If she can drive, she can come to client meetings with me. I can

have a drink, and she can drive us back. More deals, more funds for you to spend however you want.”

I smiled.

“Caleb. Can you even hear yourself right now?”

“More funds for me to spend? What you earn in a month doesn’t even match ten minutes of cash flow at the

Voss Pack Bank.”

“These excuses, do you actually think I’m stupid enough to buy that garbage?”

I gripped his chin and tilted his face toward mine.

“I’ll give you this. Your face is gorgeous. The body’s not bad either. And you used to know exactly what to do

with it in bed.”

Caleb swallowed hard. His whole body went rigid under the enforcers’ hold.

I held his gaze. “But Alphas who look like you? They’re not exactly rare. So why did I pick you?”

Something shifted in Caleb’s eyes. Fear, maybe, for the first time.

“Why?”

“Because you knew your place. I said jump, you jumped. I said heel, you heeled.”

“I like men who are easy to manage. That’s the only reason you were good enough to marry into the Voss

Pack. The only reason you got to call yourself my consort mate.”

The office was so quiet I could hear people breathing. Or trying not to.

I released his chin. My voice dropped to ice.

“But lately, you’ve been forgetting your place. You’re choosing an Omega over me.”

“Did you forget how you got here, Caleb? Who put you where you are?”

What galled Caleb most was never my dominance. It was that the entire Pack business world knew the truth.

Everything he had came from the Voss family.

Caleb’s expression twisted. His Alpha scent pushed outward, one last attempt to assert dominance.

My wolf barely glanced up. The pressure of the Voss lineage radiated outward, silent and absolute Caleb’s

presence folded under it.

“I messed up, okay? I’ll keep my distance from her. Don’t be mad. I love you. I don’t want to sever the bond”

I scoffed.

“Drop the act, Caleb. This isn’t you rejecting me. This is me rejecting you.”

“And I am getting this divorce.”

I lifted a hand. “Let him go.”

The enforcers stepped back. I threw the severance papers at his face.

Caleb caught the papers and flipped through them, muttering. “Mine, fifty-fifty. Yours, all yours.” He looked

I didn’t blink. “What’s unfair about it?”

“My trust is premarital property. We’re only splitting what you built during our mating.”

“Besides, how much of my money has your family run through over the years? The fact that I’m not making

them pay it all back? That’s me being generous.”

“And Reed Group, without my family’s credit line, without the Voss name backing you, without every door I

opened for you in the Pack business world, where would it be?”

A laugh slipped out of me. “Honestly? Your assets are barely worth my time. But if I don’t take them, I’d be

letting you off too easy.”

“So I’ll bleed you dry.”

Sweat beaded along Caleb’s hairline. “Babe. I really don’t want this.”

“The moment you chose her, it stopped being about what you want. It’s about what I want.”

Caleb held the pen. He wouldn’t sign.

Then Chloe’s voice cut through the room.

“Mrs. Reed! This is on me. I’ll pay back every cent. I’ll write you an IOU right now. I don’t care what it takes, I will pay you back!”

I raised an eyebrow. Well. That was unexpected.

“Fine. If you want to play it that way, be my guest.”

I had someone bring a sheet of paper and set it in front of Chloe.

“Write.”

Chloe’s hand shook, but she gritted her teeth and scrawled the IOU. Then she signed her name at the bottom

“One month. You’ll have it all back.”

Even Caleb looked thrown. “Chloe, where are you going to get that kind of money?”

Chloe lifted her chin. Her eyes were red-rimmed, but there was a strange, stubborn confidence underneath.

“Don’t worry about me, Mr. Reed. I’ll figure it out.”

I fixed my eyes on Chloe. “You’re not planning to run, are you? The Voss family has people everywhere. You

could run to rogue territory and my enforcers would still drag you back.”

Chloe met my gaze, steady. “I’m not going anywhere. One month, and the debt is cleared.”

That look on her face wasn’t what a secretary drowning in debt should look like. It was the look of someone

who already had an exit strategy.

Now I was actually curious.

“Fine. You’re free to go.”
