He Cheated, So I Drank the Love Potion Myself Chapter 20

Just then, my phone rang.

It was my friend.

“Ophelia!” Her voice was full of energy. “Are you coming tonight? We’re hitting the Brooklyn Bridge for night shots, then catching the sunrise tomorrow morning. The light this season is gorgeous. We’ll definitely get some amazing photos.”

“I’m in.”

“Still on about the divorce? Did you forget what a mess you were this morning?”

I walked to his desk, placed both hands on the edge, and looked down at him.

“Stop pretending. I know you’re the one who called my parents.”

Reed’s eyes darted away for a second.

He cleared his throat, avoiding my gaze.

“Divorce is a major decision. I thought your parents should be aware. Besides, Ophelia, why do we have to take it this far? Aren’t things fine the way they are? You live your life, I’ll live mine. If you want, you can find someone else, too—”
