He Cheated, So I Drank the Love Potion Myself Chapter 13

His assistant was sitting on Reed’s lap.

When she saw me, her face flushed and she scrambled to her feet.

“Ophelia… you two talk. I’ll just step out…”

“No need.” My voice was steady. “You can stay right where you are.”

I took a document from my bag and placed it on the desk.

“I read the agreement your lawyer sent over.”

I looked at Reed.

“You’re the party at fault, which means I’m not walking away with just the one million in the prenup.”

I stated the number directly.

“Three million. If you agree, we’ll be at City Hall tomorrow morning at nine to file the paperwork.”

Reed laughed as if I’d told a joke.

He reached out and pulled the assistant, who was still trying to leave, back into his arms.

“Ophelia, that’s money I worked my ass off to earn. Giving you one million is already me being sentimental.”

“And you have the nerve to ask for three? Have I been too good to you these past few years? Did you forget your place?”

“You’re really greedy.”

I looked into his eyes.

I used to love those eyes so much.

Now, all I saw was calculation and ice.

I suddenly remembered the hardest days of his startup, when I put my photography career on hold to follow him everywhere, schmoozing clients, touring factories, forcing smiles, and drinking for him—drinking until I gave myself an ulcer.
