He Canceled Our Wedding 18 TIMES for His Bestie Chapter 05

Griffin stared at the manager in disbelief. “That’s impossible.”

“The wedding was booked a week ago. There’s no way Sandra canceled it.”

He paused, and something clicked behind his eyes. “Did she pay you off to mess with me?”

“What, she can’t handle a few cancellations, so now she’s using some lame ‘going abroad’ excuse.

to force me into breaking my rules?”

“Go tell her that if she doesn’t have this mess fixed by ten, the wedding gets pushed back another

ten months.”

The manager gave him a strange look.

Before he could answer, a commotion came behind Griffin. Mirabelle had arrived with a whole

crowd of her relatives.

“Griffin! Did the ceremony start yet? We’re not late, are we?”

Her eyes swept across the empty hall, and the corner of her mouth curved into a knowing smile.

Griffin didn’t notice. He figured she was just concerned about her bestie’s big day.

He pushed down his irritation and spoke gently. “No. Sandra’s running late.”

The relatives behind Mirabelle shuffled in, already grumbling.

“Honestly, Sandra’s something else. She didn’t even tell us about you and Mirabelle’s wedding. We

almost missed it.”

“If you ask me, you can’t keep an employee that scatterbrained. Just fire her already.”

“Next time, let Mirabelle handle the invites. No point wasting money on outsiders.”

Griffin’s jaw tightened. His face went cold.

“All of you should know,” he said flatly. “This is my wedding to Sandra Beaufort. Mirabelle is here

as Sandra’s bridesmaid. That’s it.”

“You’ve all been to our wedding many times. How do you not even know who the bride is?”

The relative let out an awkward chuckle, muttering under his breath.

“Well, you and Mirabelle walked through that ceremony a dozen times. And every time Sandra showed up, she got replaced. How was anyone supposed to know she was the real bride?”

Griffin’s expression darkened further. Mirabelle quickly stepped between them.

“Griffin, don’t be mad. My uncle just didn’t know the situation.”

“Let’s go find Sandra. A wedding can’t happen without a bride, right?”

He pushed the irritation down, but something his uncle said snagged in his mind.

“Sandra didn’t notify any of you? Then how did you know to come?”

Another relative piped up. “Mirabelle called us!”

“Honestly, this whole thing feels rushed. No invitations went out, no tables set up. Where are we even supposed to sit?”

Griffin’s stomach dropped. Something was seriously wrong.

No matter how much Sandra might be acting out, she’d never let her dream wedding turn into this.

No guests, no seating, no reception at all.

The whole hall was a ghost town. Like no one had ever booked it.

He frowned and called Sandra.

But no matter how many times he dialed, it just rang and rang.

He switched to text, firing off one demand after another.

[Sandra, stop messing around. Come out now.]

[The Rule One of the Perfect Girlfriend Handbook was “always respond. Don’t ghost.”]

[The relatives are all waiting. Don’t drag everyone else into your personal drama.]

Every message he sent was marked undelivered.

He’d been blocked.

Panic finally set in.

Every time he’d canceled a wedding on the spot before, Sandra had taken it without complaint. She’d just practice harder, push herself further, bend over backward to meet his standards.

He’d honestly believed that after she’d waited seven years, a seven-day trip wouldn’t change a/…

thing.

He’d come back, and he’d finally become her husband.

He never once imagined she’d just vanish and abandon everything-their wedding, their future, everything they’d built-without a second glance.
