He Asked Me To Be His Mistress So I Left Him For Good Chapter 08

He Asked Me To Be His Mistress So I Left Him For Good Chapter 08

After Elliot finished his long, rambling story, my heart

still felt nothing.

Those things were too far away from me now.

The misery of the past had long been filled in by the happiness that came after.

When he finally stopped, I only asked politely, “Are you finished?”

Compared with listening to him talk about the past, I cared more about my husband.

I had not seen him for a few hours, and I already missed him a little.

So I kept looking outside.

Elliot seemed to notice that small movement too. Every time I glanced toward my husband, his expression. grew even dimmer.

Then he would use another question to pull me back.

“Are you based in London?”

“No.”

“Then where are you based? Can you tell me?”

“No.”

“How long are you staying in London? Will we have a chance to meet again?”

My patience was almost gone, so my answers were

quick and brief.

At last, Elliot stopped trying to keep me there.

“Go find your husband. I hope we can meet again.

someday.”

I let out a breath of relief and stood up. Just as I was

about to leave, Elliot called out to me again.

“Bianca.”

“Hmm?”

“Do you remember when I said you were my white

rose?”

“I remember.”

“You will always be my white rose. I never fell in love

with the red rose. I was only blinded for a short while

by how dazzling she looked.”

He sounded as if he were making a vow. I did not say

anything. I only nodded unconsciously.

Then I turned to leave.

But the moment I brushed past him, he called out to me

again, his voice trembling and choked.

“Can you call me baby one more time? I want to hear

it.”

I did not say it. I was someone else’s wife now. That

kind of name was no longer appropriate.

Elliot stood there, visibly hurt. After a long while, he said softly, “Then can I call you baby one more time?”

“That’s your business. It has nothing to do with me.”

After saying that, I started walking again. I thought he

would not say it.

But after a long moment, a loud “Baby” suddenly came

from behind me.

I turned back without thinking and saw Elliot standing

there, facing my retreating figure with tears streaming

down his face.

“Baby, I really, really miss you. If there’s another life, I

won’t treat you that way again.”

I smiled at him, but I did not stop. I walked out.

My husband immediately came over and took my hand,

lacing his fingers through mine just as he had before

we went inside.

Together, we returned to the street where we had run

into Elliot.

The rain was still falling. London’s streets were still damp, but my heart felt bright and clear.
