Future Him Warned Him About My Unhinged Side Chapter 02

Before I could even reach Sienna’s room, a dozen bodyguards swooped in and cut me off.

The moment they recognized me, they went on absolute high alert. “Mrs. Vance, Mr. Vance gave strict orders. You are under no circumstances allowed near Miss Brooks.”

Peering through the thick wall of suits, my eyes landed on a photo booth strip pressed against her door. It featured Ethan and Sienna smiling together, framed inside a bright pink heart.

Beneath it, playful bubble letters read: [Ethan & Sienna’s Sweet Hideout].

Forcing a bitter, hollow smirk to my face, I muttered, “Pathetic.”

Years ago, I had begged Ethan to take a strip of photos like that with me. But he had always dismissed it, claiming that as the CEO of a publicly traded enterprise, he couldn’t possibly indulge in something so childish.

As it turned out, it wasn’t that he couldn’t do it—it was just that he couldn’t do it with me.

Pressing a hand against my throbbing chest, I took a long, steady breath. “Get out of my way.”

“You all know exactly what I’m capable of when I lose my mind.”

With that, I reached into my bag and pulled out a small pocket tool.

I had only intended to use the blade to scare them back.

But in the blink of an eye, one of the guards lunged through the air, tackling me straight to the floor.

The others slammed down on top of me immediately, pinning me so hard against the linoleum that I couldn’t move an inch.

“Our apologies, ma’am, but Mr. Vance explicitly stated that the moment you show even a flicker of an… episode, we are to stop her immediately.”

Another guard unclipped his walkie-talkie, his finger slamming the button. “Mr. Vance, your wife is here! And she brought a knife—”

Before he could even finish the sentence, Ethan’s voice cut through the static, snapping with sharp panic. “Then do something! Stop her! What if she hurts Sienna?!”

The frantic struggle died out of my limbs instantly, and I went entirely still.

“We have her contained,” the guard reported. “Should we escort her back to the estate or lock her down somewhere here?”

The radio went dead silent for two long seconds. Finally, a heavy, low sigh crackled through the speaker. “Forget it. Just bring her in.”

The blade was violently wrenched from my fingers, but during the scuffle, it had already grazed my wrist.

By the time they hauled me up and marched me into the room, my wrist was bleeding slightly, splashing onto the floor one heavy drop at a time.

Biting down hard on my lower lip, I forced back the tears threatening to spill.

But the exact moment they pushed me through the doorway, I froze completely in my tracks.
