From Unwanted To Dominator: Her Comeback! Chapter 10

Chapter 10 I Really Envy You

Jasmine married her boyfriend during my junior year of college.

Mom was against it at first-but Jasmine threatened to kill herself, and Mom had no choice but to give in.

Out of the blue, Jasmine asked to see me before her wedding.

We met at a café-and the first thing she said was, “I really envy you, Annie.”

People often said that.

“You’re so lucky-you got into the best university, your professors adore you, you’re beautiful, and your boyfriend treats you like gold.”

But Jasmine didn’t get to say that-she knew exactly how much I suffered.

“Envy me for what?” I asked coolly. “For being unloved? For getting dumped in the countryside like trash? Jasmine, I never understood-you were handed everything. The love, the attention, the protection. So how did you manage to ruin your own life so completely?”

Her face tightened. “You don’t get it! I’m following my heart. My true love.”

I almost laughed.

Of course she’d say that.

Raised on fairy tales and unconditional indulgence, she still believed love was a magic spell that excused every bad choice.

“Do you… still hate me? For taking your hair clips, your toys… for making Mom send you away?”

“I used to,” I admitted. “But now? It’s not worth the energy.”

Those memories were like old photographs covered in dust. I didn’t even bother looking at them anymore.

She went quiet for a long time.

Then, softly, “When I leave Jinglu City… will you look after Mom and Dad? I know I’ve hurt them. I’m sorry.”

The sheer audacity of it stunned me.

“Are

you serious?” I leaned forward, voice low and sharp. “You choose a man over your family, threaten suicide to get your way, and now you’re playing the dutiful daughter? Don’t insult me. And let’s be clear- what ‘relationship’ do you think I have with them? Do you honestly believe I’d step in as your replacement? After everything? The truth is, watching your perfect little world fall apart? It makes me happy. Genuinely happy.”

Her face drained of color.

“They were always your parents-not mine. And if I could choose, I’d never have been born into this family.”

I’d swallowed those words for 20 years. That day, I finally let them out.
