From Now On, It’s Not About You Chapter 05

Ryan held his breath as he scrolled through the comments one by one.

[What a slut. She framed poor innocent Willow, but she’s the real whore here. How vile.]

[Not even censored. Who knows how many guys she’s been with? She’s probably riddled with STDS

by now.]

[I heard she only just awakened her wolf. Like parents, like daughter. Her Gamma parents must be

trash too if they raised someone this shameless.]

[Poor Willow. A hardworking Silver Moon Academy student, stuck with a disgusting sponsor who

clearly wanted to compete with younger women to feed her own vanity.]

[Good riddance. Maybe she’ll have better luck in her next life.]

Ryan’s fingers began to tremble. It took several tries before he finally closed the comment section.

But it didn’t matter.

The video spread everywhere. It was in every group chat and all over social media.

The authorities moved quickly to remove it. They still couldn’t keep up.

People had already turned it into memes, edited photos, fake tribute posts, and reaction stickers. It

was everywhere.

The phone slipped from his hand.

It crashed against the floor.

The dark screen reflected a face drained completely of color.

How had this happened? He was going to delete that video, Why was it online?

He never meant to send it. He would never send it.

Phoebe was the woman he intended to make his Luna,

How could he possibly let the entire world watch something that belonged only to them?

When he’d threatened her, it was only to scare her and teach her a lesson-he’d never actually

meant to send it.

Then he remembered the comment he’d just read. His blood ran cold.

He snatched up the phone and found it again.

She drove into the river. Dead.

The words hit him, and his legs nearly buckled. He slumped heavily against the wall.

By the time he realized what he was doing, he was already sprinting toward the elevator.

Willow rushed out of her hospital room and grabbed his arm.

“Ryan, where are you going?”

“I’m scared Phoebe might send someone after me again. Please stay with me.”

Ryan spun around sharply. His eyes were so bloodshot they looked ready to bleed.

“Get lost!” He shoved her aside.

Willow bit down on her lip. She still wanted to speak.

But one look at his expression made her release him.

Ryan laughed bitterly.

“How did the video on my phone end up posted all over the internet?”

“After we left Phoebe’s place, you were the only person who touched my phone.”

It only took a moment for his reason to snap back into place.

The lies. The schemes. None of them survived real scrutiny.

Ryan hated himself for not deleting the video immediately.

The memory of Phoebe’s lifeless eyes flashed through his mind.

He wanted to tear himself apart. But not yet.

He pointed at Willow.

“You’d better pray this wasn’t you.”

“If anything happens to my little Phoebe, I’ll make you pay with your life.”

Ryan had no idea how many red lights he ran.

By the time he reached the riverside bridge, all that remained was the endless rolling water and a

rescue team preparing to leave.

He rushed over and grabbed one of them.

“Where is she? Did you get her out?”

The rescuer paused. “Who are you to the victim?”

Ryan’s voice shook. “I’m her boyfriend.”

Then he corrected himself.

“No-her fiancé. We promised we’d be mates after graduation.”

The man’s expression grew heavy. He slowly shook his head.

Behind Ryan, a black car was being lifted from the river.

“There was no one inside the vehicle. The river’s too deep-our divers have already been down

twice.”

He paused, carefully measuring his next words.

“You should prepare yourself for the worst.”
