Erased by Blood: The Alpha’s Lost Daughter on Trial Chapter 09

“Hazel is found not guilty of bullying.”

“The plaintiffs, Alpha Patrick, Luna Juliet, Alpha Declan, and Helena Woods, who is absent today, shall be cursed with sickness, deprived of their wealth, and lose all they once possessed.”

“Alpha Patrick, Luna Juliet, and Alpha Declan, you are hereby stripped of your Alpha and Luna titles and exiled from this pack. You will never be allowed to join another pack again.”

“All confiscated assets will be transferred to the defendant, Hazel, as compensation. She will also be named the next Alpha of this pack.”

As the Alpha King’s decree fell, the silver chains around my wrists and ankles dissolved into nothing.

I lifted my head and saw my parents and Declan for what I knew would be the last time. Their eyes were red, brimming with tears, as if they still wanted to say something to me.

But before they could, a flash of white light engulfed them, and they vanished from my sight.

In the next instant, I was standing on a beach.

This was what I had begged of the Moon Goddess: to be sent somewhere far away from my parents and Declan. I didn’t want the pack anymore. I was leaving it behind for someone else to inherit.

I never wanted to see them again.

As soon as I arrived, my phone buzzed with a notification.

I opened it to see my bank account balance had grown by one hundred million dollars.

So that was my compensation.

And my parents and Declan had received the punishment they deserved.

At that moment, the voice of the Moon Mirror echoed through my mind again.

Hazel, as a reward for winning the trial, I can show you your family’s punishment.

A large screen materialized before me.

On it, my parents and Declan were being driven out of the pack house in utter disgrace.

Just as the Moon Mirror had promised, all their wealth was seized, their Alpha and Luna titles stripped away, leaving them with absolutely nothing.

But they didn’t seem to realize the full weight of it yet. They just stood at the entrance of the pack house, stunned, lost in their own misery.

After a long silence, Declan finally asked, “Where’s Hazel?”

My mother broke down again. “She must have been sent somewhere else. Hazel doesn’t want to see us anymore.”

My father’s eyes reddened as he sank to the ground, clutching his head.

“I’m a monster. How could I treat my daughter, my ONLY daughter, like that? We even dragged her before the pack court, hoping they’d erase her completely. This is our punishment. We brought this on ourselves. Losing everything is no less than what we deserve.”

All three of them clutched their heads, wracked with regret.

“Yes… this is my punishment.”

“It’s ours. Why couldn’t we have just been good to Hazel?”

“Dad, Mom, Declan… why are you standing at the door?”

Through their sobs, a jarring voice suddenly cut in.

They looked up and saw the daughter they once cherished most—Helena—standing there.

Tilting her head in confusion, she asked, “Why are you all crying out here? And why didn’t you pay my hospital bills? They told me my insurance has run out and they won’t give me treatment anymore.”

“Dad, Mom, Declan… are you favoring Hazel now? You don’t want to spend money on me anymore?”

“I shouldn’t have come back if I’d known this would happen. But I missed you all so, so much.”

Her voice cracked as she began to sob.

But after crying for a long while, she realized no one was comforting her.

Puzzled, she glanced up, then pretended to pout. “I knew it. You don’t love me anymore. Fine. I’ll just leave.”

She turned to go.

But her path was suddenly blocked.

“Who said you could leave?”

Helena’s lips curled into a playful pout. “Declan, I knew you couldn’t bear to let me go.”

The only answer she got was a resounding slap.

“Declan—?! What brother? Who gave you the right to call me that?”

He had put his full strength into the blow. Blood welled at the corner of Helena’s mouth as she stared at him in shock, tears streaming down her cheeks.

“Declan, why did you hit me? Are you mad I interrupted you? Then I’ll just go.”

“Don’t you dare!”

This time, the voice came from my mother.

Helena turned to her, startled but secretly delighted, then cried even harder, trying to look pitiful.

“Mom, look! Declan hit me.”

But instead of comforting her like she always had, my mother grabbed Helena by the hair and slapped her again and again, each strike merciless.
