Don’t Flatter Yourself, I Won’t Haunt You After Prison Release Chapter 06

I bared my fangs and growled, “Thalyn, don’t push me. I ruined your face once. I can do it again. Hope your

surgeon is good.”

She’d lived a soft, easy life. She was no match for me.

She gasped for air, eyes rolling back. Her hands weakly hit the door. But she smiled like she’d won.

I let go right away. Patrol werewolves surrounded us-from Nightshade, Wilderun, and Valehowl Packs.

“Help! This wolf seduced my alpha! I confronted her, and she tried to kill me!” Thalyn sobbed to the

werewolves she knew. They glared at me angrily.

She didn’t notice Valehowl werewolves step in front of me. They linked minds with me. “Luna, what’s wrong?”

“Stay still. Let her talk,” I linked back.

I crossed my arms and watched her fake-cry. Anyone would feel bad for her. She wanted to send me to

prison again.

But her plan wouldn’t work this time.

Amarok rushed in seconds later. He held Thalyn gently, apologizing over and over.

“I’m sorry, Thalyn. I shouldn’t have fought with you on the phone. Seeing Velvela like this… I know we were

too hard on her back then.”

Thalyn leaned into him like a scared bird, sniffling. “Don’t feel bad, Amarok. I can’t believe she’s still violent after three years in jail. Some things never change.”

I checked the clock again.

It was a thirty-minute drive from my house to the border shop. My mate would be here soon.

“Velvela, you’ve disappointed me,” Amarok said, his voice cold. The pity he’d felt for my poor life was gone.

He almost looked relieved.

It was hard to hurt a good, innocent woman. But if she was always evil… leaving her was easy.

Amarok acted like he was in a courtroom, listing my “crimes.”

“She bullied Thalyn when she lived with us. She insulted her stepmother.”

“She killed her own mom and lied about it.”

“She was the alpha’s daughter but danced in the north instead of helping her pack.”

“She did nothing at Nightshade Pack, crying over her lost wolf.”

“I was drunk and mistook Thalyn for her. She wouldn’t listen and attacked her like a mad wolf.”

“She’s a monster,” he said slowly, trying to convince the werewolves-and himself.

Nightshade werewolves bared their fangs. Valehowl werewolves growled back, warning them not to move.

“Relax,” I said, patting a wolf’s shoulder. “Let’s hear Thalyn’s side of the story.”

I pulled out my phone and hit play. Thalyn’s voice filled the shop.

“Amarok told me you’re a mechanic now. Married some border omega, had two worthless kids. No wonder you’re trying to climb back into high society and hook an alpha…”

Thalyn’s face turned white. Her innocent act vanished. She lunged for my phone to smash it.

Valehowl werewolves grabbed her before she could move. Nightshade werewolves howled-fight was about

to start.

Amarok unleashed his pheromones, freezing all the werewolves. My chest hurt. Thalyn tried to grab the phone.

“Don’t hurt Mom!”

My twins jumped out. They howled and shifted into werewolves. Ancient blood power pulsed out, knocking Thalyn to the ground. Amarok stared in shock-he thought they were just omega kids.

I held up the phone, still playing. The recording revealed every truth.

“My mom tricked your mom and her twin babies to their deaths!”

Amarok’s face paled… until it was completely white.
