Take in one gulp of air and breathe.

I can’t. I really can’t.

There are five Alphas in this mansion. The Morozov quadruplets and a fifth one who’s worse than them.

I can’t see him but you know what I can see?

I can see his wolf in the darkness, like a figment of my imagination, seven feet tall with eyes the color of blood and fur just in the same color with teeth that are even more horrifying.

I have never seen anything as such in my entire life and that has me spooked.

Honestly speaking, I’d rather take the quadruplets than this stranger.

“What do you see, solnyshko?”

A thousand shivers explode on my skin when his voice rocks the entire room. It’s coarse with a chilling edge of impatience.

I have no clue what solnyshko means but I bear with the name trying to plan how I’ll get myself out of this situation.

“H-he’s standing behind you or next to you? I can’t-can’t see you but I can see him.”

“What does he look like?”

Terrifying.

“R-Red…red fur, sharp teeth and claws. He looks like a ghost, like…like he’s not there but is there at the same time.”

“Can you hear him?”

“N-No…he’s not talking.”

“Call him by his name. Negan.”

“I’m sorry… I don’t, I should have never entered your library. I took a wrong turn and this, like I said is a big misunderstanding-.”

I freeze, tears pooling my eyes.

This man isn’t going to let this go, will he?

Swallowing the nervousness in my throat that has somehow balled into panic and fear, I open my mouth and call out, “Negan?”

The wolf in question only growls back at me before he disappears like he was never there.

I want to scream because this in all honesty, is the most spooked I have ever been.

“What happened?”

“He’s gone. I called him and…he disappeared.”

“Try again.”

“I can’t see him. I’m sorry but I can’t…”

“Try harder.”

My head jerks in his direction, my eyes pleading, I know what is going to happen next. It’s suggestive in his tone.

If I don’t find his ghost of a wolf, this ends badly for me.

I’m about to beg, lower my head, go on my knees if it comes to it and beg for mercy because that’s what omegas do.

They bend the knee for Alphas.

Like the Goddess can somehow hear my cries, someone bangs on the door. Hard.

Once.

Twice.

Thrice.

And my heart beats just as fast as those knocks.

“Fuck”, the man I’ve come to know as Dom in the short span of minutes I’ve been with him, stands up from his dark throne and goes to the door.

From where I’m seated, I’m only able to catch a glimpse of his back and what I see almost makes me choke.

Hard sculptured muscles ripple on his back, dark unruly hair rests on his head. I’m pretty sure if he turned around, he’d have a beard, maybe an untamed stubble as well.

He’s tall. Maybe taller than the quadruplets.

Huge, muscular thighs glance back at me from his pants and oh yeah, he’s an Alpha. He looks like one too.

“Riot.”

Riot Morozov? He’s here?

Relief courses through me.

Please get me out of here.

“You took her? Come on, Dom, you’ve gotta understand the concept of sharing”, Riot’s voice comes from the other side of the door.

“Fuck off”, Dom retorts.

“I will. Right after you hand her over.”

“She stays here.”

I don’t wanna stay.

“She’s not yours to torment, Dom. Let’s get that straight first of all and I’ll leave…with her.”

I don’t know what possesses me to speak but I do.

“I want to go with him! I’ll go with Riot.”

The sound of my own voice betraying me pricks my throat but somehow, the Dom guy listens.

He shoves his door wide, gets out and a second later, another man walks in looking all smug.

His white hair is the first thing I see, coupled with the same lips that forced themselves on me.

“I’ve been looking everywhere for you, malysh. You missed me like I missed you?”

“Get me…get me out of here.”

Funny, I just escaped one monster and I’m ready to jump in the arms of another monster.

Riot walks to the bed then he leans in, his hands grabbing my shoulders lightly.

I yank away just as fast.

“I can walk myself out of here. Just point the way.”

“You walk out in my arms or I leave you with Dom. Forewarning though, if he comes back and he finds you here, you are not going to be leaving his bed anytime soon.”

I wrap my arms around Riot’s neck, allowing him to carry me out of Dom’s room.

His palm lands on the small of my back and a whole lot of shivers travel up my spine like I’ve been churned by fire and I’m liking it.

Oh Goddess.

“He scared you?”

We are walking now and my heart is still beating so hard I think I’m gonna pass out again.

“I’ve been scared since you and your brothers took me from my home. He’s the same as all of you. Scary.”

Riot chuckles, his hands digging into my ass the more we walk.

“You said yes to us, malysh. You chose us.”

“You threatened to hurt my sister. I had no choice but to choose you.”

And you’ll regret everything you’ve done to me so far.

“You think that’s a bad thing? That smug fuck you call your Alpha would have treated you worse if he got you.”

“At least Xanthus was a mate the Goddess herself had chosen for me.”

My mind dwells on the we part.

I can hear him scoff.

Though what has me breaking from the inside is his next reply that’s unrelenting and unashamed.

A feminine voice breaks my trance.

My head cocks to the side, my eyes on the woman with the purple and black hair who’s standing in front of us. She’s strapped in warrior clothing.

“Cassie.”

“A word with Laikyn please?”

She knows my name?

“We are not doing this here, Cassie.”

“Great. Let me talk to her and we won’t have to do it here then. Come on, she’s new here and you’ve all what? Caged her inside like she’s your property?”

“She is our property.”

“She’s not a thing, Alpha. She has her own thoughts and free will whether you all agree to it or not.”

I decide right now and here, I like this Cassie chick.

Riot’s fingers clench around my ass and I have to hold his shirt trying to bite the moan that almost wants to escape me.

I expect him to say no to the woman who’s clearly a beta or an omega but to my surprise, Riot puts me down and my bare feet struggle to hoist me up.

A second later Riot’s lips land on my forehead then he turns the other way and leaves shooting a rather curious glare at the Cassidy chick.

I’m too confused to question what’s going on.

“Laikyn? Hey, I’m Cassidy but my friends call me Cassie. You can call me Cassie. Come with me?”

“Okay.”

“That comes as a shock to you?” Cassie asks, handing me a bottle of what she calls’ mead’.

“I’ve never heard of Alphas choosing women as their second in command.”

Not even with Xanthus no.

Allie, who is Vuk’s second-in-command omega places her hand on my shoulder, “Technically their first in command are the men, the betas. You’ll meet them soon but yeah, I guess we are seconds to those bastards we call our Alphas.”

I chuckle nervously.

Ava, who is Echo’s second-in-command shoots me an apologetic look, “I’m sorry she gets carried away when she’s drunk.”

“I don’t mind. Your alphas are bastards alright.”

Cassie is the first to chuckle then Allie and Ava follow.

Lena, Nikolai’s second-in-command is the only one who doesn’t laugh. I don’t think she likes me very much.

She’s been giving me glares since Cassie brought me here.

“I’m sorry, I’m trying to understand how a wolf-less omega is somehow the long-awaited destined Luna of our pack.”

The wolf-less part is meant to hurt me. I don’t mind it.

Lena chuckles. It’s a mocking one where you just know she’s going to be a bitch in the next few seconds.

“Sorry to burst your bubble, Laikyn but if they put their pups in you, that means they’ve figured you are their mate. After all, only their mate can carry said pups. Believe us, we know.”

Lena doesn’t stop.

No, she stands up and she puts her point across.

“Breeder, Luna, whatever you are to them, it won’t matter if you are wolf-less. If you carry their pups while you have no wolf, you will die. You, your pups, you’ll die and you’ll be just another long line of women they’ve fucked and discarded.”

She might be lying.

Yet I turn to the other women.

“Is that true?”

“Having a wolf helps a woman in her pregnancy. You don’t have a wolf so we don’t know what would happen if you got pregnant with their kids”, Cassie explains but not before shooting Lena a back off look.

“Ooh and there’s the other situation.”

Cassie is the one to smile.

Allie, Ava and Lena are frozen in place.

“Domenico Morozov hasn’t spoken to anyone but his brothers in years, Laikyn. If he didn’t hurt you then…you might be the real deal.”
