Boyfriend Fakes Amnesia and Betrays Me, I Faked Death and Ran Away Chapter 12

A low, hoarse voice spoke, and I froze. Slowly, I turned to look at the man holding me.

It was Benjamin.

“Babe, I knew you weren’t dead. I’ve been looking for you for three years…”

I stared at this stranger, my mind blank.

I never thought I would see him again, in fact, I had hoped I wouldn’t.

[Trash! Let her go!]

[God, this jerk isn’t going to hurt her again, is he?]

The comments snapped me back to reality.

“Let go of me,” I said coldly.

Benjamin flinched. He looked at me with desperate, red-rimmed eyes. “Babe, 1 remember everything. I know what I did to you when I had amnesia…”

“Please forgive me. I’m begging you…”

He was still telling that pathetic lie, hoping I would forgive him.

I found it all ridiculous.

I pushed him away and looked at him closely.

Three years had changed him. He was thinner, older, and sitting in his wheelchair, tired and broken. He looked nothing like the confident man I remembered.

But when I looked at him now, I felt nothing.

“Babe, you’ll forgive me, right? We were in love. I only did those awful things because I had

\ amnesia…”

Benjamin looked at me hopefully.

I smiled bitterly. “Benjamin, stop pretending. You never had amnesia.”

His hopeful smile froze as he stared at me in panic. “Babe, no, I really…”

He saw the coldness in my eyes, his voice faded, and he covered his face and sobbed. “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…”

“Everyone who hurt you… I got them back…”

“The club men… I broke their hands and legs and threw them out like beggars…”

“Jessica… I gave her to homeless men. She has diseases now. She won’t last much longer…”

“I got revenge for you. I swear…”

His pain seemed fake to me.

“Benjamin, the person who hurt me the most was you.”

“No one would have dared to treat me that way if you hadn’t let them.”

“You say you got revenge on everyone. What about yourself? You’re the one who deserves it the

most.”

I looked him in the eye and said every word clearly.

With each word, Benjamin’s face went paler. The last hope he had held for three years was gone, and despair consumed him.

“Babe…”

“Don’t call me that. It’s disgusting.”

I turned my head away, looking utterly disgusted.

Benjamin’s lips trembled. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but nothing came out except a hoarse, strained whisper.

“Don’t come near me again. Let’s at least end this with some dignity.”

I walked inside and closed the door.

Then I heard a gunshot.

I spun around.

At the same time, a comment appeared.

[…Benjamin just killed himself.]

Tears fell down my face.

Benjamin was dead, but I didn’t feel happy. I just felt sad.

[Honey, don’t be sad. We’ll be with you forever. We promise.]

[Yeah, we’ve got your back. Don’t worry.]

The comments scrolled by, full of comfort, and I wiped my tears and smiled.

The past is the past. Some things you can’t change.

The future will be better than ever.
