Boyfriend Fakes Amnesia and Betrays Me, I Faked Death and Ran Away Chapter 08

Benjamin POV

Benjamin used all the resources at the Harrison family’s disposal. They searched the entire city but found no trace of Emily, it was like she had disappeared.

“Talk! Where is Emily?”

In the Harrison family living room, Benjamin demanded answers from a bodyguard, his eyes bloodshot.

This was the man he had personally hired to protect Emily.

“Sir, I really don’t know!” The bodyguard cowered on the floor, panicked.

Benjamin kicked him hard. He grabbed the man by the collar and roared, “You don’t know? I hired you to protect her, and you don’t know where she is?”

“Tell me the truth, or I swear I’ll kill you!”

“I really don’t know!” The bodyguard shook his head in terror.

“Sir, you told me a month ago that I didn’t need to protect Miss Carter anymore. You gave me thirty thousand dollars and said to take a break until you called me back…”

“When did I tell you to…” Benjamin stopped mid-sentence, suddenly realizing something. His

blood ran cold as a nameless fear washed over him.

“You… you said you’ve been off for a month?”

His voice shook.

“Yes…”

“Then a week ago, during the car accident, you didn’t save Emily?”

“Sir, what car accident? I don’t know anything…”

Benjamin’s mind went blank. His legs gave out, and he collapsed to the floor, pale as a ghost.

He pulled out his phone with shaking hands and screamed, “Get me the security footage of the

accident! Now!”

The assistant was fast, and the footage arrived quickly.

Benjamin pressed play, his hands trembling. He watched himself carry Jessica out of the car, not even looking back at Emily, who was trapped inside.

He watched Emily cry as she stared at his back, then close her eyes in despair.

He watched the car be consumed by flames, the fire filling the screen.

Then came the explosion, and the screen went black.

From start to finish, he never saw Emily escape.

A strangled cry tore from Benjamin’s throat as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

He clutched his chest, his eyes red.

Emily’s desperate expression flashed through his mind.

She was the woman he loved more than anything, the one he had sworn to protect for the rest of his

life.

And now, because of another woman, he had left her to die in a burning car.

Grief and regret crashed over him like a tidal wave, and Benjamin collapsed in agony.

“Sir! Are you okay?” The assistant rushed to help him up.

Benjamin’s eyes were bloodshot. He grabbed a glass and smashed it against the bodyguard’s head. “When did I give you thirty thousand dollars? When did I tell you to take a break?”

The bodyguard was bleeding badly. His story, told in broken fragments, revealed the truth.

It was all Jessica’s doing.

A month ago, Jessica had found out that Benjamin had secretly hired someone to protect Emily, and she couldn’t stand it.

If she couldn’t have something, then neither could Emily.

She used Benjamin’s phone to text the bodyguard, transferred him thirty thousand dollars, and told him to take a break.

Since the message came from Benjamin’s number, the bodyguard didn’t think twice and left his

post.

Then Jessica started causing accidents, hurting Emily over and over again.

And whenever Emily showed up in front of Benjamin with fresh injuries, he thought she was just

trying to get his attention, assuming she was safe because the bodyguard was watching her.

But the bodyguard had been sent away, so one was protecting Emily.
