Boyfriend Fakes Amnesia and Betrays Me, I Faked Death and Ran Away Chapter 04

Benjamin scooped Jessica up, threw her onto the bed, and eagerly climbed on top of her.

Outside the door, I had heard everything. My face was streaked with tears.

I went home and sat on the couch all night.

I didn’t understand why Benjamin was treating me like this.

Just a few months ago, he had gotten down on one knee, nervous as hell, and proposed. He swore he would be good to me for the rest of his life, that he would spoil me and love me and give me whatever I wanted.

I had shyly said yes, and he was so excited he picked me up and spun me around. He wanted to tell the whole world that I had agreed to marry him.

But just days later, he was faking amnesia to lie to me.

His so-called love couldn’t even last a few days. It was laughable.

I smiled bitterly.

Suddenly, the front door burst open. Jessica strutted in.

She looked at me with a mocking smile. “Hey Emily, how were those guys last night? Did they treat you right?”

“If you’re still not satisfied, I can send over a new batch tonight,” she laughed, pleased with herself.

“You were behind last night!” I stood up angrily and tried to slap her, but she caught my hand and shoved me to the floor.

Jessica looked down at me with contempt. “Emily, do yourself a favor and leave. Stop hanging around Ben. He’s been bored with you for a long time.”

She leaned in close and said, “Besides, what right do you have to stay by Ben’s side with a body those men already ruined last night?”

Her words brought back all the shame and humiliation. I slapped her hard across the face.

Jessica clutched her cheek and instantly put on a tearful, innocent expression. “Emily, I’m sorry. I won’t bother Ben anymore…”

Before I could even process what was happening, I was shoved aside. Benjamin helped Jessica to her feet, frowning. “Are you okay?”

I felt dazed remembering a time when I had tripped on an uneven sidewalk. Benjamin had been so worried he had the entire street repaved overnight so I would never get hurt again.

But now, that love belonged to someone else.

“Ben, I’m fine. Don’t be mad at Emily. She didn’t mean to push me.” Jessica said, playing the good girl.

Benjamin turned to me, his face cold. “Are you done yet? Apologize to Jessica. Now. Or get the hell out of this house.”

His tone was final.

This was the house he had bought with the first money he ever earned.

He had once covered my eyes and brought me here, excitedly telling me this was our home and I was the lady of the house, that no one could ever kick me out.

And now, because of one groundless accusation from Jessica, he was telling me to leave.

My eyes stung with tears. The pain in my chest made it hard to breathe.

“Emily, did you hear me…”

“Fine. I’ll leave right now.” I held back my tears and turned to go upstairs and pack my things.

Benjamin grabbed me and yanked me back. “What did you say?”

His sudden movement made me lose my balance, and I tumbled down the stairs.

My wrist bent under my body. The pain was unbearable.

“Benjamin… my wrist…” I turned pale; my wrist was everything to a pianist.

Scared, I looked up at Benjamin, hoping he would help me.

He rushed down the stairs. When he saw how much pain I was in, he instinctively reached for me.

Then Jessica shouted, “Ben! My stomach! My stomach hurts so much!”

Benjamin stopped, hesitated for a moment, then turned and walked toward her.

“Think about what you’ve done.” He left me with those words, picked Jessica up, and walked out.

I gritted my teeth, shaking as I called an ambulance. Any last hope I had for him died in that moment.

Luckily, my wrist was only slightly sprained. I breathed a sigh of relief.

It was almost dawn by the time I left the hospital.

As soon as I got home, I packed my things and booked the first flight to Fairview.
