Betrayed Twice, I Pretended Amnesia To Take Revenge On My Alpha Mate And Sister Chapter 01

The night before the mating ceremony, Clarence Wraith said it like he was confirming a patrol route.

“I slept with Bethany.”

He pointed at our bed, his tone so casual it made my stomach drop.

“Last night. She put on your Luna gown and sat on the bed and kissed me. My wolf didn’t stop it.”

I had been betrayed again.

I stood frozen in place, the pain so total that no sound could escape my throat.

But Clarence wore a self-satisfied smile, like he was still savoring the memory.

“Haley Cinder,” he said. “I finally understand why Alpha Gabriel cheated on you. Bethany really is so much more lovable than you.”

Gabriel was my former mate. Bethany was my own sister.

I had lived in her shadow my entire life.

Our parents treated her like the one and only princess of the Silvermoon Pack, and the pack members adored her more than me too.

Three years ago, even my mate chose to betray me with her.

When I hit rock bottom and my world went dark, Clarence was the one who stayed by my side and promised to make me the happiest Luna alive.

And now Clarence had betrayed me for Bethany too.

I just stood there, something lodged in my throat that I couldn’t swallow past.

The pain of the mate bond fracturing was beginning to surface.

It took a long time before I found my voice.

“Why her?” I asked, trembling.

Clarence knew exactly what Bethany had done to me.

He knew she was the reason I had fallen into depression.

He had held me in his arms and sworn to the Moon Goddess that he would never be tempted by the she-wolf who took pleasure in stealing everything from me.

So why did he still cheat?

When he saw my tears fall, Clarence froze for a moment.

Then he laughed. Loud, grating, and cruel.

“Bethany,” he said with a helpless sigh, “you win.”

I whipped my head around in horror, eyes scanning the room.

The next second, he raised his phone and hit the speaker button.

From the other end, Bethany’s sweet voice dripped with amusement.

“So you’ll come keep me company tonight, right?”

My wolf snarled endlessly inside me, enraged by their shamelessness.

I was shaking so violently I could barely stay on my feet.

But Clarence just smiled with satisfaction, that smile burning into my eyes.

“Your sister and I made a bet,” he said. “We wanted to see how you’d react when you found out.”

He tilted his head, looking at me like I was some little experiment.

“I said you’d be so angry you’d slap me. But she said–”

“Every time someone takes something from you, all you do is stand there and ask why.”

He picked up his suit jacket from nearby and walked toward the door.

“If I’d won tonight, I would’ve stayed with you. But the result is obvious–she won.”

Then he looked down at me and sighed.

As if I were a disappointing child who had failed a test she was always meant to lose.

“You heard it all. You’re too weak to even fight back, so don’t blame me.”

Meanwhile, Bethany’s triumphant laughter poured from the speaker.

“Haley, it’s been three years and you’re still this pathetic. But thanks for the recommendation. You really do have great taste in mates. Clarence is mine now.”

Her laughter was so sharp it sent a crawling pain across my arms.

In an instant, I was dragged back three years.

That day at the pack hospital, Gabriel had suddenly video-called me.

The moment it connected, the screen was filled with him and Bethany in bed together.

I froze the same way then.

I stood there in shock and asked in a trembling voice, “Why?”

Before Gabriel could answer, I heard the healer next to me scream.

“She’s bleeding! Vitals are dropping! Get a stretcher, now!”

But it was too late.

In the span of a single minute, I lost the three most important people in my life.

The sister I had raised with my own hands.

The mate I had completed the marking ceremony with just one month before.

And my first pup.
