Harvey stared at the DNA test report, feeling as if struck by lightning.

He stood frozen, unable to recover from the shock for a long time.

“How is this possible? Why would it be my pup?”

“Did I kill my own baby with my own hands?”

Harvey looked down at his palms, murmuring incessantly like a man possessed.

“Harvey, now that the baby is gone, my only demand is to break the mate bond. This is what you owe me.”

I placed a silver dagger and the bond-breaking deal before him, my gaze icy.

Harvey stared at the bond-breaking deal on the ground as if it were a devil.

“No, I reject to break the mate bond.”

I sneered.

“If you don’t agree to break the bond, I’ll keep appealing to the Alpha King until you do. The things you did to me during our marriage are enough for me to file criminal charges and send you to the werewolf tribunal.”

I paused, then slowly crouched down before him.

“But if you agree to break the bond, I’ll sign the understandings.”

After staring at me blankly for a long moment, Harvey finally picked up the pen and signed his name on the bond-breaking contract.

Then he took the silver dagger, slashed his palm.

The blood began to flow steadily. My heart felt squeezed and torn.
The next second, our mate bond snapped.

I was free.

After signing and dropping the dagger, Harvey gripped the hem of my pants.

“Lynette, trust me. Once I’m out, I’ll make it up to you. I’ll spend the rest of my life atoning to you and the pup.”

Without a word, I tucked the contract into my bag and walked straight out of the werewolf police station.

It had been a month since Harvey bailed.

“Lynette, I’m back.”

He hurriedly pushed open the door of the pack house, only to find strangers moving belongings inside.

“Who are you? Why are you in my pack’s territory? Who allowed you in?”

Harvey’s face darkened.

The strangers’ expressions turned dark.

“And who are you? You look like some beggar.”

“This is my home. The house I just purchased!”

He eyed Harvey’s unkempt beard with disgust.

“What?”

Harvey froze, staring disbelievingly.

“Who sold it to you? This is my pack territory! How dare you enter without permission?”

“The owner, obviously. The former Luna of the Dark Stone Pack, Luna Lynette. You know, the pregnant Luna from that viral video eight months ago.”

He waved a feather duster at Harvey.

“Your pack? The entire pack migrated long ago. This is my territory now.”

“Get lost. Don’t you dare sully my property; you filthy beggar.”

“But I’m an Alpha…”

Harvey’s protest died as the truth crushed him. He allowed himself to be shoved outside, collapsing onto the ground.

After some time, Harvey rose unsteadily and began frantically dialing my number.

The call went straight to disconnected tone.

He tried sending a voice message.

“Lynette, this is a joke, right? Please come back. I’ll wait for you at the pack house.”

The message sent, only a bright red exclamation mark appeared.

I had already blocked him.

Harvey stood frozen again, then dialed his beta.

As soon as the call connected, Harvey roared,

“What kind of useless are you? How could you let our pack house be sold without reporting?!”

“Harvey, you’re mistaken about something.”

Sam’s voice held no trace of its former deference.

“You’re no longer my Alpha.”

Harvey stiffened.

“You left the pack? Why didn’t you file a report? I never approved this!”

Sam chuckled.

“You still think you’re the revered Alpha of the Dark Stone Pack? Need to file a report with you?”

A cold dread gripped Harvey’s heart.

“What does that mean?”

“You’re no longer Alpha of the Dark Stone Pack. You’re bankrupt. So lose that Alpha attitude of yours!”
