After They Sent Me Overseas, I Returned With a Powerful Husband Chapter 12

Evren had Sienna meet him at one of the villas he owned.

When he walked in, she was already waiting.

She’d changed into a white dress, her long hair falling over her shoulders.

The moment she saw him, she stood up with a bright smile.

“Evren!”

A faint smile tugged at Evren’s lips, but he didn’t respond.

He crossed the room, dropped his car keys onto the coffee table, and settled into the sofa opposite her.

The moment he sat down, Sienna’s expression shifted into one of quiet sadness.

“Evren, about Ava drugging me… I really don’t blame her.”

“I know she didn’t mean it. Maybe it was just a moment of impulse, or someone got in her head, and she was upset, so she just…”

She looked up, her eyes glistening with tears.

“I don’t want compensation, and I don’t need her apology.”

“I just hope you’ll say a few good things about me to her. Maybe then she’ll stop hating me.” Her voice softened.

“Ever since we were little, she’s never really liked me. I still don’t know

what I did wrong.” Her voice trembled.

“Seeing how much you love her… I’m honestly jealous. No one’s ever loved me like that.”

“My parents always favored Ava. I’ve always had to get through everything on my own.”

A tear rolled down her cheek.

Evren watched her quietly before speaking.

“If you’ve had it that hard,” he said, his voice unhurried, “then I really ought to compensate you.”

Sienna blinked. A faint blush spread across her cheeks.

“What… did you have in mind, Evren?”

Evren’s smile deepened ever so slightly.

“What kind of compensation would you like?”

Her breathing caught.

“I…” She lowered her gaze shyly. “I want to know what it feels like… to have you the way Ava does.”

A quiet chuckle escaped him.

He stood, walked over, and stopped directly in front of her.

Leaning down, he held her gaze from only inches away.

“So that’s what you want?”

Her heart pounded. For a split second, she thought he was about to kiss her.

Instead, he tossed his phone onto the table between them and stepped back.

She looked down—the screen was still lit. It was today’s news.

“Looks like you haven’t seen today’s news yet,” Evren said, his voice flat and utterly devoid of warmth.

“Otherwise, you wouldn’t have dared say any of that.”

Sienna hurriedly picked up the phone.

After only a few swipes, all the color drained from her face.

She shot to her feet.

“That’s not true! It has to be Ava! She made all of this up!”

“Someone framed me! Evren, you can’t believe this!”

Evren stood there without saying a word. His face gave nothing away.

Panic finally set in. The phone slipped from her fingers and hit the floor.

She dropped to her knees and crawled forward, clutching at the leg of his pants.

“Please believe me. I never did any of those things.”

“Ava hates me. She’s always hated me for taking the people she wanted. She’s trying to ruin me.”

As she spoke, she began undoing the buttons of her dress.

“Evren, I can serve you better than she ever could. Whatever she can do, I can do. Whatever she can’t—I’ll learn.”

“Choose me, okay? Don’t choose her.”

“I’m younger. I’ll listen to everything you say. I’ll do anything.”

But Evren only glanced down at her, then kicked her away with a clean, decisive motion.

She fell backward onto the floor, catching herself on one elbow with a cry of pain.

Looking up at his emotionless face, she finally understood.

This time, the tears were real.

“I’m sorry! I’m really sorry!”

“I was wrong. I shouldn’t have treated Ava that way.”

“Please, can you take down those trending posts? I can’t live like this.”

“Please. I swear I’ll never bother her again. I’ll stay away from her. I’ll disappear if that’s what it takes.”

“You already lost that chance.”

He cut her off. “You hurt my Ava. So I won’t let you off.”

Without another glance, he turned and walked out.

The door closed behind him.

Sienna remained lying on the floor, still too stunned to move.

Then a low growl echoed from somewhere behind her.

Her entire body went rigid. Slowly, she turned toward the sound.

In the dark corner of the living room, a pair of glowing green eyes stared back at her.

A large black dog stepped out of the shadows. Drool hung from its jaws.

Its muscles were taut, a deep rumble vibrating from its throat.

Sienna’s eyes went wide with disbelief.

“Coco…”

It was Coco! The dog she had raised herself. The same dog she had deliberately trained to attack Ava.

Everything that happened in the garden had been planned.

She knew the dog would lunge. She knew everyone would side with her.

After everything spiraled out of control, she’d poisoned the dog herself.

She had watched it foam at the mouth and collapse before ordering

someone to dispose of the body.

So why was it here?

She didn’t have time to think.

The dog had already lowered itself into an attack stance.

“Coco,” Her voice shook as she backed away. “It’s me! I’m your mom!”

The dog paid her no attention.

Instead, it lowered its front body, hind legs coiling—then lunged straight at her.

Her scream ripped through the villa. It echoed across the empty night for what felt like forever.

By the time Cassian and Rowan arrived, the villa’s front door was ajar.

Inside, dead silence.

The instant they stepped inside, the metallic smell of blood hit them.

Across the living room floor, a long, dark red smear stretched from the sofa all the way to the corner.

Sienna lay curled up against the wall. Her white dress had been torn into bloody strips.

Her arms, legs, and shoulders were covered in savage bite wounds. She was barely conscious.

Two yards away, Coco lay motionless. Dead.

Cassian stood frozen in the doorway, his brows knitting together.

This was the same dog Sienna had rushed to the animal hospital.

The same one he had personally carried inside, only to be told later that it hadn’t survived.

So why was it here?

What made even less sense was—this dog had been raised by Sienna since it was a puppy. Why would it suddenly turn on its own owner?

Rowan looked away from the gruesome scene, his face pale.

“No matter what she’s done, we can’t just leave her here to die.”

He pulled out his phone to call an ambulance.

Before he could dial, the wail of police sirens erupted outside.
