After My Future Husband’s Video, I Took $100 Million and Vanished Chapter 07

Snow had blanketed Brackston for the entire winter.

When I returned to the Commonwealth of Aurelion with Ethan, the city was still buried beneath

white.

Inside the quiet cabin of the Maybach, Ethan handed me a tablet.

“You’ve moved on,” he said calmly. “Some people are still drowning in the gutter.”

I glanced at the screen.

A grimy alley behind one of the city’s red-light districts came into view.

Without Julian’s protection, Vivian had spiraled into gambling, drugs, and debt.

Several heavily tattooed men had her pinned against a brick wall.

One of them yanked her hair back before slapping her so hard her head snapped sideways.

Her cheek immediately swelled.

Cheap makeup mixed with blood, smearing across her face.

“You owe three million dollars in loan shark money.”

The man crouched in front of her, grabbing her jaw.

“If you don’t pay today, I’ll sell you on the dark web. Men will line up to buy you.”

Vivian shook so violently she could barely breathe.

She collapsed to the filthy pavement and wrapped both arms around the man’s leg.

“Please! Just three more days! I swear I’ll get the money!”

She was sobbing hysterically.

“Chloe’s coming back today! I’ll go find that bitch! She’ll give me the money!”

The man laughed coldly.

Then he kicked her across the alley.

She crashed onto the pavement.

His boot came down hard on the back of her hand.

He slowly twisted.

Crunch.

The unmistakable sound of bones breaking echoed through the narrow alley.

Vivian screamed like a slaughtered animal.

It sounded exactly like I had six months ago.

Back when I had begged for my life in another forgotten alley.

The man spat on the ground.

“You’ve got three days.”

He smiled.

“Miss the deadline, and we’ll be collecting your body in pieces.

The video ended.

Ethan lazily tapped a finger against his knee.

“Want me to have her taken care of before she becomes a problem?”

I lifted my cold brew coffee and took a slow sip.

The bitter taste lingered on my tongue.

My expression never changed.

“No.”

I set the cup down.

“A cornered animal is always the most dangerous.”

My eyes remained fixed on the dark screen.

A faint, icy smile touched my lips.

“I’d like to see how much she can still bite… now that her owner isn’t around to protect her.”
