After His Amnesia, I Severed Our Mate Bond Chapter 06

After the pup was lost, I spent two weeks recuperating in my rented den. I had secured this place right after learning that Zayla was getting her bond severed My plan was to wait until my mate and Zayla finished celebrating their separations over a Harvest Moon feast, then confront him about our own split when he returned to the pack grounds.

I had rehearsed countless scenarios in my mind about how to deal with Alpha Evander to come out on top. Who could have predicted that a rogue attack would speed up the entire process? During my recovery, my friend Ensley, the pack’s Gamma, was there to take care of me. She arrived at my den with her laptop in tow, her keen eyes already scheming.

“This situation of yours is ripe for a story. It’s incredibly inspiring,” she said as I sipped the steaming coffee she handed me. “Go ahead and write it,” I replied. “We’ve severed the bond now, so why not make a profit from it?”

Ensley grinned slyly. “Alright, I’m going to write it, and I’m going to elevate it into something artistic. But are you really satisfied just severing the bond like this? Isn’t revenge more common?”

I shook my head. “He left with nothing but the clothes on his back. No need to make things messier.”

Seeing her disappointed expression, I flashed a smile. I was lying. I never claimed to be a saint. Considering all of Alpha Evander’s antics, why would I just let it go quietly? But I have no intention of revealing my plans to anyone. I can’t afford any slip–ups.

I left plenty of surprises in that den, just waiting for Alpha Evander to stumble upon them one by one. Every few days, he discovers something new—a delightful twist. He’s the type who devours his prey while eyeing the next kill. Now, Zayla is the prey, and I am the

untouchable hunt.

I’ve arranged things so Alpha Evander experiences discomfort regularly. I never entertained the unrealistic hope that a rogue could be reformed. It’s far more practical to keep making his life difficult.

In the pack hierarchy, I may no longer be Luna, but I am far from powerless. My investments and side businesses have kept me afloat, and my connections within the pack remain strong. Alpha Evander may have his title, but titles are brittle when the pack whispers of his failings.

As I sipped my coffee, my wolf stirred faintly in the back of my mind, a reminder of the strength I still carried. I didn’t need to shift to prove my worth. The remnants I left behind–the framed separation papers, the scent of our lost pup lingering in the air–were enough to haunt him. They were not just reminders of what he lost, but of what he could never reclaim.

Ensley’s fingers tapped rapidly on her keyboard, her excitement palpable. “This is going to be good,” she muttered, her eyes gleaming. “The pack will eat it up.

I smiled faintly, knowing the truth. The pack already was. Alpha Evander’s missteps were becoming the talk of the Silver Moon Pack, and every whisper was a thread unraveling his authority. Let him cling to Zayla, let him bask in her false promises. I had already moved

on, carving a new path for myself, one where I was no longer defined by his neglect.

The coffee warmed my hands, and I felt a strange sense of peace. The bond was severed, but I was far from broken. The future was mine to shape, and I intended to do so with precision and grace. Alpha Evander could keep his regrets. I had no room for them in my

den.
