After Forcing Me to Speak, They Regretted Everything Chapter 07

After Forcing Me to Speak, They Regretted Everything Chapter 07

The moment the words left my mouth, an invisible force erupted from the signal tower, sweeping

outward with a thunderous roar.

I didn’t need to look. The instant Prophetic Words took effect, my consciousness forged an absolute link with every zombie across the entire city.

Within a ten-mile radius, every single zombie wandering the ruins, roaring, gnawing on flesh-all of

them stopped dead in the same second.

In their gray-white eyes, an eerie dark-golden light flickered to life in unison.

That light was my will.

On the other end of the control panel, the military-frequency monitor speaker crackled with comm

chatter from inside the base.

“Shit! What the hell was that broadcast?! Was that the mute waste of space?!”

Paul’s voice. Accompanied by the dense rattle of gunfire and heavy, ragged breathing-they were

clearly still fighting the horde in the wreckage outside the base perimeter.

“Paul! Something’s wrong! These zombies-they’re hot biting anyone else!”

Another voice screamed in terror-one of the squad members who had once crushed my fingers.

I closed my eyes and leaned back in the chair, listening quietly.

Over the radio, Paul gasped for breath and roared, “What are you panicking for?! Open fire, damn

it!”

But then his voice completely changed pitch, laced with an ungodly, bone-deep terror.

Because thousands upon thousands of zombies inside the base had suddenly received an unspoken command. They abandoned the ordinary survivors within arm’s reach. Every pair of dark-golden eyes locked dead onto Paul and the seven or eight strike team members beside him-

the ones who had kicked and beaten me senseless

“Paul! They’re looking over here! All of them!”

“Get away! Don’t come closer! AAAHH-!”

The shrill screams tore through the radio static.

I heard Paul’s heavy machine gun firing wildly, but the zombies surged forward like an unfeeling wall of flesh, wave after wave crashing down upon them.

The sound of tearing flesh, shattering bones, and desperate wailing intertwined through the

speakers like a magnificent symphony.

Paul finally broke. As he ran for his life, he screamed into the radio strapped to his chest: “Lydia!

You’re behind this, aren’t you?! You monster!”

I picked up the intercom mic from the control panel. My fingertips toyed idly with the blood scab seeping from my fractured ribs, and the corner of my mouth curled into a cold, sharp arc.

“Giving up already?”

I spoke softly into the mic. My voice traveled through the radio waves and slammed directly into

his ears with pinpoint precision.

“A few days ago, when you broke two of my ribs and crushed three of my fingers, I couldn’t even let

out a scream.”

On the other end of the radio, Paul’s roars were already being swallowed whole by the snarling of the horde. A massive mutated zombie sank its teeth into his thigh and dragged him-still

screaming-deep into the impenetrable swarm.

“AAAAAAAHHHH-!!!”

With the final sound of a wet, muffled throat being torn open over the radio, the life signals of my

abusers were wiped to absolute zero.

I opened my eyes. My gaze pierced through the blood-smeared glass of the top floor and looked toward the base’s command center and medical wing in the distance.

The lackeys were dead.

Now, it was time for the masters sitting on their high platforms-and the ones hiding behind

hospital beds, playing dead.
