Accidentally Yours Chapter 02

Accidentally Yours Chapter 02

Thinking about all those explicit conversations we’d had, the audio files I’d saved on my phone, I

couldn’t stay in the country anymore. I was too mortified.

That very night, I told my parents I was going to study abroad.

And Thorne.

He thought he’d messed up and made me mad.

He kept texting me, apologizing.

Honey, can we just start over? I promise I’ll wait for you this time.

Please text me back. Don’t ignore me.

What if I come find you right now?

Seeing that, I freaked out.

If we actually met face to face, he’d realize I was Isolde’s sister, not the girl he was pining for.

I couldn’t let it continue.

Swallowing the ache, I typed out a final message. I’m sorry. I lied to you. I’m not Isolde. This is over.

After hitting send, I immediately blocked him.

And I was gone for three years.

At least Thorne never found out who he’d been talking to online back then.

Otherwise, even if I could get over it myself, I’d never have the guts to show my face back home.

Just then, Isolde wheeled over a huge multi-tiered cake.

“Everyone, come have some cake!”

Isolde wanted me to cut it, but since I couldn’t quite reach, she handed the knife to Thorne instead.

“Oh, Thorne, this must be your first time meeting my sister, right? Her name’s Elara. Funnily enough, she was already in France when we met. But don’t worry, you two will get to know each

other soon enough.”

I didn’t dare look at Thorne, but I could feel his eyes on me.

“Elara.”

He said my name in a way that felt loaded with meaning.

His deep, magnetic voice hit me right in the chest.

Instantly, I was a nervous wreck.

Three years, and I was still this pathetic.

To cover my fluster, I cleared my throat and downed my glass of champagne in one go.

That helped a little.

When Thorne handed me a slice of cake, I managed to keep it together.

“Thanks, Thorne.”

Thorne stared at the smile on my lips and replied, “You’re welcome.”

I let out a silent sigh of relief.

Thorne likes Isolde. He even helped Dorian with his company.

Logically, he wouldn’t treat me too badly either, right?

Better to have him as a friend than an enemy.

Let the past be the past.

At 11 PM, everyone started heading out.

We’d all been drinking, so we were going to call cabs.

| Thorne, who hadn’t had a drop, offered to drive us.

Before I could refuse, Isolde jumped at the chance.

“That’d be great, thanks.”

She carefully helped the tipsy Dorian into the back seat.

I snuck a peek at Thorne’s expression.

His face was blank, like he was already used to this.

A line popped into my head. He kept reaching for the green light, not realizing it was never meant

for him.

It fit Thorne perfectly.

When would Isolde ever notice the guy right beside her who loved her?

Thorne got in the car too.

Which left me with only one seat. Front passenger.

Maybe it was the smaller space, but sitting next to Thorne made my heart race all over again.

My fingers twisted together nervously.

Thorne suddenly leaned over and said softly, “Seatbelt.”

“Oh, right.”

Stress makes you do dumb things.

I fumbled with the buckle and couldn’t get it to click.

Thorne reached over, his fingers brushing past my shoulder, and buckled it for me.

With his face that close, my heart was pounding like a drum.

Thorne was really good-looking. Sharp brows, high nose bridge, a strong jawline. Handsome, with

an imposing presence.

He seemed so different from the guy who used to whisper filthy things to me every night three

years ago.

But then again, people change.

I mumbled a thanks and turned my gaze out the window.

Half an hour later, the car pulled up in front of my house.

Just as I was about to get out, Thorne called out to me.

“Elara, I heard you’re in design. I have a question, actually. Could I add your iMessage?”

He wanted my iMessage?

That would blow everything wide open.

No way.

So I gritted my teeth and said, “Sorry, my phone’s dead. Maybe next time?”

To my horror, Isolde leaned forward from the back, all excited. “No problem, my phone’s got juice.

I’ll send him your iMessage right now.”
