My throat tightened. I turned to Grant. “Pull the delivery records. All of them.”

“Receiving addresses, sign–off videos, e–signature source files, payment approval chains. Don’t miss a single

item.”

Julian’s head snapped up. “Mom, are you seriously going to interrogate everyone under this roof?”

I shot him a cold look. My voice didn’t rise.

“You’ve been in this family for decades. You know exactly how I operate. When I decide to investigate

something, do you dare tell me no?”

Julian didn’t say another word.

The deeper we dug, the more rot we uncovered.

Grant projected a fund flow chart on the wall, and even Sloane stood up.

Sienna’s educational trust disbursed twenty million every year.

Part of it was designated for education, living expenses, and health.

The rest was meant for long–term development. Overseas programs, arts projects, asset allocation.

It sounded respectable.

In reality, it was full of holes.

The so–called “Overseas Science Camp“-cost two point eight million.

Passport records showed Sienna was in the country taking final exams that week.

The person who went was Cole.

The so–called “Youth Mental Health Support Program“-four point two million per year.

The recipient was a counseling firm.

The registered owner was Julian’s college friend.

And in the firm’s actual control agreement, Julian held forty percent in hidden equity.

And then there was the so–called “Campus Housing Improvement Fund.” Over six million in down payment and renovation costs.

The property was in London.

Under Cole Kensington’s name.

My grip on the armrest went white–knuckled. “The absolute nerve. I’m not even in the ground yet, and you’re

already cooking the books right under my nose?”

Dead silence. No one dared speak.

Grant pulled up the bank statements. “Sienna Kensington has three primary cards.”

“The first is a black card held by Julian. Spending over the past year concentrated at private clubs, menswear

stores, and a personal wine cellar.”

“The second card is linked to automatic overseas account deductions.”

“The third was never activated.”

“The card she actually uses is a supplementary card under Julian’s private account. Monthly limit: six hundred eighty dollars.”

Sienna’s face went white. Like she’d finally heard the answer she’d been afraid to believe.

[So it really was six hundred eighty.]

[So I wasn’t crazy.]

[I wasn’t careless with money.]

[They took everything from me, then called me the problem.]

Sloane gripped the back of her chair, her knuckles bone–white.

“Julian.” Her voice was barely above a whisper. “Explain.”

Julian was quiet for a few seconds. Then he gave a bitter smile.

“Sloane, you know how Sienna is.”

“She’s impulsive. Easily influenced by peer pressure at school.”

“I restricted her card to protect her.”

“As for the programs, Cole tried them first so we could filter out what wasn’t suitable for her.”

I laughed. I actually looked at my son–in–law properly for the first time in years.

“Julian.” I fixed him with a cold stare. “Do you think I’ve lost my mind? Or that the Kensingtons are idiots?”

My cane struck the floor with a sharp crack.

The cracks in Julian’s pleasant mask started to show.

“Mom, do you have to be so harsh?”

I stared at him coldly.

“You took my granddaughter’s money. You funded your son. You ran your side businesses. And you pinned it

all on her.”

“And you’re calling me harsh?”

“You seem to have forgotten what you were before this family took you in.”

Julian’s face twisted, but no words came out.

I turned to Sloane.

She stood there like someone had driven a knife through her chest.

But I wasn’t going to feel sorry for her.

She deserved it.

Her daughter was crushed right under her nose, and she only woke up today.
