I Accidentally Slept With My Future Brother In Law Chapter 11

I Accidentally Slept With My Future Brother In Law Chapter 11

I had no choice but to drag Elian out of the theater.

As soon as we stepped outside, we ran into Rowan coming from the neighboring tavern.

He wore a deep purple houppelande, his collar and cuffs lined with rare black sable, a

gold-embroidered wide belt at his waist, his expression cold.

Behind him walked a dejected Diana, kicking stones angrily.

I sighed deeply.

We were doomed.

Our carefully planned “fake death” escape was completely ruined.

An hour later.

Waldergrove Manor, side hall.

Rowan sat in the main high-backed chair, holding an exquisite silver-gilded cup, sipping

spiced warm wine slowly.

Elian sat beside me like a scolded child, his sword removed, sneaking glances at me every

few seconds.

Diana sprawled on a silk cushion next to Rowan, staring lifelessly at an empty pewter plate

on the table.

I sat in the middle, looking left and right, my temples pounding.

“Alright.” I slapped the table helplessly. “Since we’re all here, let’s have a family meeting.

Speak your minds.”

Elian spoke first, his voice muffled. “I want to die.”

Diana followed, tearful. “My Normandy suckling pig…”

I stared at the two of them and fell into deep thought.

“Lord Waldergrove.” I turned to Rowan. “Let’s be honest. This marriage can’t happen.”

“Our fake deaths are the best solution.”

“Of course, you two could die instead, but the crown needs you. So we’ll do it.”

Diana: “Yeah, yeah.”

Rowan set down his silver cup and said calmly.

“The damage is done. You enjoyed what happened, and now you want to walk away

scot-free?”

“I paid him!” I blurted out. “Three gold pouches!”

Rowan’s face darkened.

“Three gold pouches?”

He turned to Diana.

“Why did I only get thirty silver coins…”

I waved a hand. “Never mind that. You’re older-you should be grateful I didn’t charge you.”

We were arguing loudly when rapid footsteps came from outside.

“You two ungrateful girls!”

We’re dead!

“Father?” I stood up. “Why are you here?”

Father walked in, wiping fake tears.

“Your mother died young. I raised you both with all my heart…”

“Father.” I cut him off quickly. “This isn’t the time.”

“Then what is?!”

“It’s about sleeping in the wrong bed.”

Father froze. “What wrong bed?”

I told him everything from start to finish.

After hearing it, Father’s eyes rolled back.

“Father!”

Diana and I caught him quickly.

“Let me die first…” He collapsed onto the heavy oak table.

“Father, say something.”

Father looked at Rowan, then at Elian.

He finally spoke painfully. “My lords… my future sons-in-law.”

“After all, we’ll be family. Right?” Father forced a smile. “Heh, no need to be so upset…”

Rowan sat silent, his face dark.

Elian panicked. “Brother, say something!”

“If you don’t, I’ll kill myself!”

Rowan frowned, looking disgusted.

“Father-in-law.” Rowan lifted his silver cup, his voice steady.

“This is the royal decree signed by His Majesty. I marry the younger lady. My brother marries

the elder. It’s God’s will.”

Father froze. “But it was supposed to be-”

“You must have misremembered, Father-in-law.”

“But the decree clearly said-”

“The manor was robbed a few days ago.” Rowan swirled the wine in his cup. “The decree was

destroyed.”

Father’s eyes went wide. “Will the king believe that?”

“The king misremembered.”

With those four words, Rowan drank calmly.

After a long stunned silence, Father slapped his thigh.

“Yes! The king misremembered!”
