I Accidentally Slept With My Future Brother In Law Chapter 06

He led us to the waiting noble carriage.

Once seated, he spoke sternly.

“Behave yourselves at the Waldergrove manor. Especially you, Isolde Karel-no staring at other noble boys.”

“And you, Diana, control your mouth. Don’t try to eat everything you see.”

Diana muttered unhappily. “I’m not that greedy…”

“The royal Master Cook told me you snuck and ate the rare ornamental goldfish from the

royal garden last month!”

Diana defended herself weakly. “It looked fat and tasty. I couldn’t help it!”

“That was royal ornamental fish, not food fish!”

“They looked the same to me!”

Father clutched his chest in anger. “I’ve kept my dignity as a noble my whole life. How did I

raise two little troublemakers?”

The carriage traveled on and reached the grand Waldergrove manor on the east side of the

city.

The top-tier noble estate was vast and magnificent.

Eight servants guarded just the front gates.

Father sighed as we walked. “Look at this prestige. This is real nobility. You’re lucky to marry

in here.”

He took a deep breath, fixed his robes, and put on a perfectly gentle, father-in-law smile.

The butler led us toward the main hall.

I kept my head down. Diana hid behind me. We both looked like thieves.

When we stepped inside, I froze.

Rowan sat in the main seat.

He wore a plain noble robe, his features cold and distant, his sharp aura unchanged.

But even that cold aura couldn’t hide the bright red mark on his left cheek-a round, curved

bite mark.

Round, curved, clearly made by human teeth.

No wonder he’d taken the day off.

How could he show his face like that?

Father saw it too, hesitated for a second, then quickly put on his polite smile.

“Lord Waldergrove, your face… did you injure yourself?”

Rowan touched the bite mark lightly, his face unchanged.

“A drunkard mistook me for a turkey last night and bit me.”

When he said “drunkard,” his eyes flicked faintly to Diana.

Diana froze completely, her lips pressed tight, unable to speak a word.

I secretly pinched her, signaling her to stay calm.

She pinched me back, making me wince.

Father went on. “My, that drunkard is outrageous. Why didn’t you hand him over to the

guards?”

“No need.” Rowan lifted his tea cup, his tone calm. “Family matters are handled in the family.”

Family matters.

Family.

Those two words turned Diana pale, then bright red, utterly embarrassed.

I quickly changed the subject. “Where is the Knight Commander? Is he feeling better?”

“My brother overexerted himself last night. He’s resting in the back.” Rowan said coolly. “I’ve

sent someone to fetch him.”

Overexerted himself.

I stared at the floor. Why wasn’t there a crack to hide in?

Moments later, Elian walked out from the inner hall.

The young man wore a neat blue knight’s tunic, his black hair tied loosely.

A faint red mark still lingered at the corner of his eye, sleepy and innocent.

The second his gaze landed on me, his ears burned bright red.

He quickly looked away and bowed politely to Father.

“Lord Karel, my apologies for my rudeness. Father-in-law.”

Father smiled warmly and kindly. “Knight Commander, we heard you were unwell. Are you

better now?”

“I’m well.” Elian’s voice still held the hoarseness of sleep. He answered honestly. “Only… my

lower back and abdomen are still sore.”

“Young man, your health matters. Soreness is no small thing!” Father looked concerned and pressed on. “What have you been working on so hard you’re this tired?”

Elian lifted his eyes and glanced quietly at me.

My heart jumped. I looked away, too guilty to meet his gaze.

He lowered his eyes, his voice steady, loud enough for everyone to hear. “I was working in the

fields, Father-in-law.”

1: “……”

Father slapped his thigh, full of admiration.

“The Royal Knight Commander truly cares for his people! You tend the land yourself right after returning from war! Such hard work makes you a model for the kingdom’s warriors!”

“You flatter me, Father-in-law.” Elian bowed slightly, his ears red, his tone hurt but earnest.

“I just… couldn’t help myself.”
