My Poor Online Boyfriend Pulled Up in a Rolls Royce Chapter 04

The director looked suspiciously at him, then at me, as if he had understood something.

“Claire, did you and Mr. Lake have some kind of misunderstanding before?”

I glared at Crystal with a red face.

“What misunderstanding could there be?”

Crystal glared back at me.

“No misunderstanding. I’m just curious whether Miss Sterling usually calls handsome

business partners ‘baby’ too.”

He continued twisting the knife.

“Or do you buy matching outfits for ambiguous business contacts? Maybe ask whether

they’re free at night?”

My face kept heating until it could probably grill meat.

I was shy and furious, but I didn’t dare say a word. I could only grit my teeth, clutch my A4

papers, and keep glaring at him.

The director’s gaze grew more and more amused as it moved between us. He lowered his

head and snickered.

“Yes, yes, young people. They all do this kind of thing…”

Crystal picked up his teacup, his expression dark.

“Right. She told someone late at night that she would show him something good. He waited

until midnight, and she fell asleep first.”

The director almost failed to maintain his expression. The look he gave me gained another

layer of respect.

“When apologizing, she said, ‘Baby, don’t be mad. I’ll send you a special photo.”

Crystal stared at me.

“What exactly was that special photo? I still don’t know.”

The director sprayed out a mouthful of water and wiped himself in a panic.

His eyes locked on me, filled with the words, What exactly did you do to the client?

“And afterward, to make up for it, she sent someone eight dollars and asked him to show his

abs. Was each ab worth one dollar?”

The director completely froze.

I stared at the crack in the floor and wished I could hide inside it.

Crystal stared at me, still calm.

“What kind of woman would do something like that? Afterward, instead of apologizing

properly and offering compensation, she cruelly cut off all contact.”

I was too embarrassed to speak.

He laughed at himself softly.

“Truly heartless.”

Seeing the atmosphere grow increasingly dangerous, the director hurriedly dragged the

conversation back to work.

Crystal casually flipped through the documents, then pushed them forward.

“I’m not satisfied with this proposal. If your company can’t produce a plan that satisfies me,

Lake Group won’t consider a partnership.”

With that, he stood and left.
