He Made Me Pay Half the Rent, While Giving Her Every Penny of His Bonus Chapter 08

The livestream chat instantly swung to the other side.

[Wait, that settlement was legit? Vivian really killed Willow’s father?]

[Julian not only hid it, he even signed a settlement for his mistress? Is he even human? That’s pure evil!]

[I just told Willow to kill herself earlier. I was wrong. I’m sorry, Willow.]

[Wait… if the settlement is real, then Julian accusing Willow of paranoia was him smearing

his own wife! He wanted the crowd to believe she was crazy!]

[Sending her to a psychiatric hospital? So he could lock his wife away and live happily ever

after with his mistress?]

The comments flew by so fast they were impossible to read.

Just as the police were about to take Vivian away, she suddenly clutched her stomach and

collapsed against Julian. Her face turned pale.

Julian grabbed her immediately, his voice trembling. “Vivian! What’s happening? Talk to me!”

Mrs. Howard scrambled to her feet and rushed over.

“My grandson! Officer, she’s pregnant! You can’t arrest her!” She spread her arms and stood in

front of Vivian. “If something happens to her, will you be responsibile?”

The crowd finally understood what was going on. “So Julian and Vivian really are having an

affair. No wonder he’s protecting her like that. The baby in her belly really is their illegitimate

child.”

I stood quietly to the side, watching the farce unfold. Vivian lay weakly in Julian’s arms, her eyes half-closed, still letting out soft groans.

The police had little choice but to call for a doctor to examine her. A doctor arrived quickly, pushing through the crowd with a medical kit.

Vivian was still trembling. Julian held her tightly, tears in his eyes, his voice shaking. “Doctor! Please check her! She’s pregnant! Nothing can happen to her!”

Mrs. Howard was pacing anxiously nearby, her hands clasped in prayer. “God bless us, God

bless my grandson.”

The doctor knelt down, put on a stethoscope, then pulled out a portable ultrasound device and pressed it against Vivian’s stomach.

A few moments later, the doctor looked up. His expression was strange. Julian asked urgently, “How is it? Is the baby okay? Should we send her to the hospital?”

The doctor removed his stethoscope and spoke calmly. “The baby is perfectly healthy. The fetal heartbeat is stable. There are no signs of miscarriage.”

Vivian’s groaning stopped instantly. The doc eyed her. “The mother is in good health too.

Next time, don’t pretend. It’s not good for the baby.”

Someone in the crowd failed to hold back a laugh. Vivian had been exposed. Her face

flushed bright red.

Julian’s arm froze awkwardly around her, unsure whether to hold on or let go.

I stepped forward. From my bag, I pulled out a sheet of paper. “Since so many people are

here today, let me show everyone one more thing.”

I unfolded the document and held it toward the camera. “This is Julian’s fertility test report from three years ago.”

Julian immediately tried to rush forward to grab it, but the police stopped him. I held the

report closer to the camera so everyone could read the words clearly.

“Congenital malformation in both vas deferens. Severe oligospermia. Asthenospermia. Odds

of natural conception: zilch.”

“In simple terms, Julian will never be able to get any woman pregnant naturally in this

lifetime.”

Vivian’s face turned completely white. Mrs. Howard opened her mouth but couldn’t produce a

single word.

Julian struggled like a madman. “It’s fake! That’s fake! Willow, you’re addicted to forging documents now, aren’t you?”

“Fake?” I said calmly. “Then take Vivian to the hospital right now. Do an amniocentesis and a

paternity test on the spot. Do you dare?”

Vivian suddenly jumped up from the ground and pointed at me. “You’re lying again! The baby is Julian’s! You’re seething with envy ’cause you couldn’t knock one out!”

I immediately pulled out a second sheet of paper from my bag.

“This is my fertility report. Both fallopian tubes are clear. My uterus is normal. So the reason I didn’t get pregnant during five years of marriage wasn’t because of me.”

I looked directly at Julian. “He’s the one who can’t.”
