Five Years As An Amnesiac Bride Chapter 03

I frowned, feeling uncomfortable.

But when I thought about how she would be the bride in the end, I said nothing.

Then Lila picked up a glass globe. I had forgotten what it was, but my body reacted faster than my mind.

I stepped forward, wanting to take it back.

Lila suddenly smiled and let go.

With a sharp crash, glass shattered across the floor.

I could not hold back. I raised my hand and slapped Lila across the face.

The next second, Ethan came back and shoved me to the floor.

Glass pierced my palm, and the pain drained the color from my face. Ethan’s furious questioning rang in my ears.

“Sylvia, you hit a pregnant woman over some worthless piece of junk anyone could buy anywhere. Are you out of your mind?”

Lila started crying, too. “Sylvia, it was my fault for breaking it, and I was wrong to get pregnant, too. But I already apologized to you just now.”

“I really was drunk that night. Please don’t threaten me and force me to terminate the pregnancy, okay?”

When Ethan heard that, the veins on his forehead throbbed faintly. “Sylvia, I never knew you could be this vicious.”

I had not said a word the entire time, but suddenly, I laughed. Then the laughter turned into tears.

When I spoke, my voice was calm, almost resigned.

“Ethan, we’ve been together for five years. You didn’t even ask me a single question before believing her?”

Ethan clearly had not expected me to react that way. His throat tightened, and uncertainty crept into his expression.

Seeing that, Lila clutched her stomach and grabbed his hand. “Ethan, my stomach hurts so much. Is something wrong with the baby? Can you take me to the hospital?”

Ethan’s thoughts were thrown into chaos. For a moment, he could not care about anything else, so he picked Lila up and left.

Soon, I was the only one left in the bedroom. I lowered my eyes and looked at the floor. At some point, blood had spread everywhere, yet it was as if I could no longer feel the pain.

I stood up and suddenly remembered what my journal had said.

That glass globe was one of the ninety-nine gifts Ethan had given me when he proposed.

He had made it by hand, which was why it had always been my favorite gift.

Now, according to him, it was nothing more than some worthless piece of junk anyone could buy anywhere.
