Four Dads Spoiled Then Abandoned Me Chapter 03

I didn’t hit the ground.A tree broke my fall.

When they pulled me up, Elias shouted at me in extreme anger.

“Lila, are you done?” he shouted.

Kael looked just as furious.

He was filled with rage and looked at me with cold fury.

“What is wrong with you?”

I crumpled to the floor.

My body was in terrible pain, and I could barely hold myself up.

Then I knelt in front of them.

“Mr. Voss, Dr. Reed,” I whispered, “please just let me die.”

They stared at me, stunned.

Kael frowned. “Is this another trick? Blackmail with death?”

“No,” I cried.

“I spoke to Mom’s system. It said if I die, I can be with her. Please let me go. You won’t have to worry about me bothering Elara anymore.”

After Elara’s accusations, Silas—the powerful guardian—had punished me.

He locked me in a dark basement punishment room for five days.

He shined bright lights in my eyes so I couldn’t sleep.

When I drifted off, they kept me from resting and made me endure endless torment in the dark room.

When I was released, I begged them to let me leave.

But they refused.

“You hurt Elara under our roof,” they said. “If we let you go, you’ll only harm her more.”

“We promised your mom we’d set you straight. You’re not leaving.”

My mention of Mom seemed to soften them.

A flicker of the old warmth returned to their faces.

“Lila,” Kael said, helping me up, “are you sure you saw the system? When?”

I told him the truth—this morning, when I was starving to death.

They exchanged a look.

Elias’s voice was stiff. “You don’t know. Your mom said the system vanished when she left. You’re hallucinating.”

I shook my head. “It was real. Please, just let me die.”

The word “die” made Elias flinch.

“I don’t care if it’s real or not,” he snapped. “We’re sending you to a therapist.”

He patted my head like he used to, his expression strange.

“We’ve talked about it three years ago. If you promise to stay away from Elara, we won’t punish you anymore—”

Before he could finish, Jude and Silas burst into the room.

“Where is Elara?” Jude demanded.

Kael and Elias froze.

“Wasn’t she with you?” Kael asked.

Jude was frantic. “She took a call and left. Said a classmate had a gift for her. What if—”

All four men went pale.
