He Asked for a Divorce, Then Begged Me to Marry Him Again After I Moved On Chapter 05

It was late afternoon by the time all the paperwork was completed.

My assistant returned to the hotel first.

I wandered around aimlessly.

Eventually, I ended up outside the gates of Disneyland.

I hadn’t been here in a long time.

Going inside at this hour didn’t make much sense.

Besides, if I bumped into Ethan and Serena, they might think I was trailing them, which would only bring unnecessary trouble.

I walked around the entrance for a bit and turned to leave.

A young couple walked past me, chatting and laughing.

“I added Serena on social media. Let me know when we get back so we can grab dinner with her.”

“Sure, invite her boyfriend too.”

“Her boyfriend is unbelievable. Since it was Serena’s first time at Disneyland, he bought her a real tiara with actual diamonds as a souvenir. He said he wanted her to be a princess for a day. I was so jealous.”

“And he spent the whole time taking photos for her with endless patience. You can tell how much he adores her.”

As the couple walked farther away, the park’s evening fireworks show began.

Standing outside, I could see parts of the display in the night sky.

My mother called my phone.

“Happy birthday, sweetheart.”

“How are you and Ethan celebrating today?”

Brilliant, colorful fireworks reflected in my eyes.

I held the phone and let out a gentle smile.

“Since we were on a business trip here, we spent the whole day at Disneyland.”

“Listen, they’re setting off fireworks right now.”

“We’ll head back after dinner.”

My mother spoke warmly.

“That’s wonderful. Spending your twenty-fifth birthday happily is what matters most.”

“Have fun, you two. I won’t disturb you anymore.”

“Okay. I’ll come visit you once this busy stretch is over.”

I stood outside the park until the entire fireworks display finished, then explored a few other spots.

For dinner, I ordered a rich bowl of noodles with extra toppings as my birthday meal.

I ate slowly and carefully, making sure not to break a single strand.

Finishing the meal and looking down at the empty bowl, a tiny sense of accomplishment rose within me.

Claire, you must live a long, healthy life this time.
