The Alpha Who Killed Me Now Calls Me Mother Chapter 05 My New Place

Jane bit her lip, her eyes, reddening as she looked at Ashton. “I tripped and fell by myself. Evelyn didn’t do anything. This was my fault. I… I caused all of it.”

Craig said nothing at first. Then he strode forward and kicked Ashton six feet across the hall, sending him crashing into a pillar by the entrance.

“Bring me the security recording.” Craig looked at Maria, who hurried away to retrieve it.

Ashton rushed forward in agitation. “Dad, don’t waste your time on her. Evelyn is a schemer. She must have pushed Jane. Jane is too kind to frame anyone.”

Hostility sharpened Craig’s voice. “Do you intend to become a useless fool who cannot even tell right from wrong?”

Maria returned with the recording and offered Craig a tablet with both hands.

“Your Majesty, the video shows Ms. Yates jumping from the window herself. Housekeeper Stone never touched her.”

Craig gestured for her to show Ashton.

“That’s impossible!” Disbelief covered his face. Maria held the screen before him. The recording clearly showed Jane glaring at me, saying something vicious, and then climbing through the window on her own.

Ashton went pale. He turned toward Jane, who was trembling and trying to hide from his gaze.

“Why did you do it, Jane?”

She scrambled upright, wrapped both arms around his legs, and burst into tears.

“I didn’t mean to! I love you so much, and I was terrified she would steal you. I lost my mind for a moment. I never truly wanted to frame her. Please forgive me, Ashton!”

“Ashton is not the person whose forgiveness you need. Evelyn is. If she demands your life as payment for the wound on her face, I will not spare you.”

Craig bent down and gathered me carefully into his arms.

After examining the blood running from my cheek, he ordered, “Have a car brought around. Evelyn is going to the hospital now.”

Jane tried one more time to interrupt. “Your Majesty…

“Get out,” Craig said without warmth. “What makes a contemptible woman like you think she deserves to stand among us?”

Ashton growled through clenched teeth, “Dad, Jane is the one I want. I am going to marry her. Even this happened because she loves me, while Evelyn has been plotting against us and trying to seduce me from

the start.”

Craig’s eyes flashed. He drove another kick into Ashton’s chest. “I don’t care whom you marry. Touch

velyn again, and I will deal with you myself.”

He turned to the Beta soldiers. “Throw that woman out. I never want to see her here again.”

Two soldiers advanced, and Jane backed away in terror.

Holding me close, Craig gently wiped the blood from my cheek. “You’re safe. I’m here now.”A pressed against his chest and rasped, “My face hurts so much. Why did you take so long? He almost killed me.”

Ashton watched us with feverishly red eyes. “Dad; please… spare Jane. I’ll admit I was wrong. Isn’t that enough?”

Craig glanced at Ashton. “I have marked Evelyn. From this moment on, she is my Luna and your mother. Choose your words carefully when you address her.”

Ashton stepped forward in disbelief, his voice rising sharply. “What did you just say?”

“She is Luna now.” Craig offered no further explanation. He turned and carried me toward the waiting car.

Before we left, I looked back at Ashton standing bewildered below the steps. For the first time, it felt as though the hatred of two lifetimes might finally be resolved.

I had never dared approach Craig in my previous life. Only after he died in battle did I discover that my mother had been the sole love of his life.

The way he looked at me had never been simple courtesy toward a temporary housekeeper. This time, I would not hold myself back.

Inside the car, Craig traced the wound on my cheek with the lightest touch. His expression was terrifying. “I should have taken you to the military camp with me. Then no one could have done this to you.”

I reached for him and held him tightly without speaking.

The quieter I became, the more fiercely he wrapped himself around me.

After the examination, the doctor warned that the cut was deep and the scar might never completely fade.

Craig’s face darkened at once. As gauze was wound around my cheek, he said, “You will decide what happens to her.”

My voice was rough but steady. “I don’t need her to suffer the exact pain I did, but she will pay for it.”

He closed his hand around mine. “All right. Leave it to me.” I lay back and shut my eyes with a single thought fixed in my mind.

In this life, no one who hurt me would escape whole. I would collect every debt, one person at a time.
