I Planned My Exit The Moment His Loyalty Score Began To Fall Chapter 11

I Planned My Exit The Moment His Loyalty Score Began To Fall Chapter 11

Summer was young, beautiful, and utterly charming; Ethan had long harbored feelings for her.

Although he had stayed overnight at Summer’s house before, he had always maintained his moral boundaries and insisted on sleeping in the living room.

As for Summer, she played the role of a subordinate who was too afraid to seek help from anyone but her

boss.

Unfortunately, Molly returned and fired her.

Summer feared that if she didn’t act soon, she’d truly lose her chance, so while Ethan still felt a twinge of guilt toward her, she quickly seized an opportunity to lure him over.

Ethan was already attracted to her, and with Summer making the first move, one bad decision was all it took.

By the time Ethan realized what was happening, it was already too late.

Summer cried, saying she just loved him too much–she didn’t mean to break up his family, nor did she want Ethan to take responsibility; she just wanted to treat it as a beautiful dream of her own.

But Ethan couldn’t accept that reality. He’d been able to tell me so confidently before that I was being ridiculous because he believed he’d acted with integrity–and nothing had actually happened between him

and Summer.

But now, it was too late–once a line had been crossed, it was crossed.

Watching Ethan, torn with pain and tears, kneel before me begging for forgiveness, I merely gave a cold laugh and signed my name.

“Ethan, you’re the one who gave her the opportunity. If you hadn’t given her that chance, she wouldn’t have been able to manipulate you, no matter how hard she tried.”

Ethan suddenly looked up, his eyes filled with regret.

Ethan moved out and rented an apartment near the office.

His mother came to help him pack, and when she saw me, she just sighed.

After divorcing her husband, she raised Ethan on her own.

After Ethan and I got married, she sold the house back in our hometown and bought an apartment in our neighborhood.

When I was pregnant, she came to take care of me for a while; and until Luna turned one, she often came

over to help.

She’d always been polite to me and never meddled in Ethan and my relationship–she only showed up when

we needed her.

Ethan didn’t have all that much stuff, and once everything was packed up, his mother motioned for me to sit

down.

She studied me for a long moment and said, “Claire, I’m not going to try to talk you out of this, nor am I going

to speak up for Ethan.”

“He brought this on himself.”

“In the future, if you need anything, just reach out to me. Even though you and Ethan are divorced, Luna will always be my granddaughter.”

As she was leaving, she glanced back at me one last time.

In the end, Ethan and Summer’s affair couldn’t be kept under wraps. Summer would often go to the apartment Ethan rented to see him, and before long, everyone at the company knew about it.

Rumors were swirling around the office, saying that my divorce from Ethan was because of Summer’s meddling, and Ethan’s coworkers looked down on Summer with disdain.

“You’d never guess it–she seems so quiet, yet she’d do something so shameless.”

“Mr. Hale certainly didn’t see it coming–I thought he really loved his wife!”

“I saw it coming when Molly went on her wedding leave. Mr. Hale was always taking Summer out to dinner. I just didn’t feel comfortable saying anything at the time.”

Ethan was called in for a meeting with his boss, and between the lines, he was told to resign.

Unable to bear the rumors swirling around the company, Ethan voluntarily resigned.

As he was packing up his things in the office, Molly walked in. She glanced at Ethan and muttered, “Serves you right.”

The moment I received the final divorce decree, I saw the number above Ethan’s head rise to 90%.

He looked at me with guilt in his eyes: “Claire, after ten years together, how did things come to this?”

“Isn’t this what you wanted?”

“Ethan, ever since you didn’t show up for Luna on her birthday, I knew we’d end up like this.”

I watched his face, filled with confusion.

I smiled: “I told you, I can see the Loyalty Percentage above your head. When you came back that day, the

number had dropped to 87 percent.”

He froze.

“So, from that moment on, you’d already started planning to leave?”

“Yes!”

He lowered his head, as if something had just occurred to him, and said, “I’m sorry.”

After my divorce from Ethan, my life didn’t change much.

I heard that when Summer found out Ethan had quit his job and left with nothing, she went to his place and

made a scene.

The scandal between the two of them spread throughout the entire industry, and Ethan simply couldn’t find a

better job.

He wanted to leave Greenport to pursue opportunities in another city, but Summer flatly refused, and the two argued constantly.

But none of that has anything to do with me anymore.

Every day after dropping my daughter off at school, I go to the gym and yoga studio, and I’ve even signed up for a beauty treatment package.

At thirty–five, it’s about time I started enjoying life.
