The Mate Who Broke My Wolf’s Heart Chapter 09

The Mate Who Broke My Wolf’s Heart Chapter 09

The Pack Enforcer’s actions were faster than I expected.

On the fifth day after the case was officially opened, Kael was taken into custody at his home.

According to the report, he had been playing games in his room at the time. He had even been laughing with his teammates over voice chat.

“What are you all worried about? It’s just a video.”

“Does Lyra really think she can send me to prison over this?”

“I’m the one who handled the technical side. I wiped everything clean. Even if they investigate, they’ll never find anything.”

But when the Pack Enforcer retrieved the original files from the cloud server, Kael was completely

stunned.

The materials and source files he thought he had permanently erased were all recovered.

So were every message between him and Selena.

Every single piece of evidence was laid out in front of him.

In the interrogation room, Kael still tried to defend himself.

“Pack Enforcer, this was just a prank.”

“We were only trying to teach her a lesson.”

“I grew up with Lyra. Why would I actually hurt her? I was just…”

“I was just joking!”

The Pack Enforcer sitting across from him looked at him coldly.

“A joke?”

“An illusion-created video that was viewed more than twenty million times. That’s your idea of a joke?”

Kael opened his mouth, but no words came out.

The Pack Enforcer placed a printed document in front of him.

“Take a look.”

“This is your conversation history with Selena.”

Kael lowered his eyes.

Selena: “Kael, can you make the video look more realistic? Caden said there are still too many

flaws.”

Kael: “Don’t worry. I’ll handle the technical part. I processed all the footage myself.”

The color drained from Kael’s face.

But the Pack Enforcer wasn’t finished.

He placed another file on the table.

“And there’s this.”

“Before the video was released, Selena transferred money to an account.”

“That account is connected to the overseas server access you purchased.”

“Do you still have an explanation?”

Kael froze.

Everything he had always been proud of about his technical skills collapsed in front of the evidence.

The tricks he thought made him untouchable had become the very things that exposed him.

Only then did Kael think of Lyra.

The girl who had stood beside him since they were children.

The girl who had forgiven him every time he made a mistake.

But that Lyra was gone.

When Kael tried to request a formal statement of leniency from Lyra, Adrian rejected it without

hesitation.

His voice was calm and firm.

“Lyra has already made her position clear.”

“She will not forgive you in any form.”

“She wants you to spend your time inside thinking about one thing.”

“What a real joke is… and what should never be done to another person.”

When Kael heard those words, he finally broke down.

He lowered his head as tears fell uncontrollably.

But those tears of regret came far too late.

And they no longer meant anything.
