I Forgot My Alpha. Now He’s Obsessed. Chapter 04

I first met Jaxson in an underground bar.

I was singing there to pay off my father’s massive gambling debts.

He claimed it was love at first sight and bought the entire bar.

From the lounge to my dorm room, he flooded my life with roses.

Luxury goods were piled outside my door every single day.

He stayed by my side constantly, playing the role of a devoted, protectivè Alpha.

I knew the massive gap in our social standing, so I kept my distance.

Until my gambling addict of a father sold me to an underground auction.

Jaxson stormed the place entirely alone, taking over a dozen silver wounds just to get me out.

That day, covered in his own blood, he carried me out of that hellhole.

“Florence, you are my life. If you die, I won’t live another day.

Because of those words, I became his Luna.

Then Ava and his older brother returned from abroad.

It was only then that I learned from his Beta that Ava was his first love–his destined mate.

After that day, Jaxson changed completely.

All of his attention shifted to Ava.

The gifts that were meant for me were redirected to her.

Because she didn’t want the pack to have another female leader, he publicly refused to give me a proper

mating ceremony.

She wanted a child but feared the pain of childbirth, so the pup I nearly died delivering was handed over to

her the moment he was born.

Whenever I demanded answers, Jaxson threatened to cut off the medical funding for my terminally ill

mother.

To keep my mother alive, I became Ava’s personal servant. I washed her feet. I endured her slaps and beatings.

Finally, when I couldn’t take it anymore and fought back, Jaxson dragged my mother out of the hospital and

threw her into a raging storm

She died of a heart attack before I could even get to her. I never got to say goodbye.

Broken and empty, I tried to take my son and run away.

But Jaxson caught me. He forced me to take the blame for Ava’s crimes.

I remembered kneeling in the pouring rain, grabbing the hem of his pants, begging him.

“I can’t go to prison, Jaxson! If I go, what will happen to Mike?”

But he only held the umbrella closer over Ava, shielding her from the rain.

His voice was as cold as midwinter frost.

“Ava is fragile. She can’t handle prison. You’re tough, Florence. You’ve been built for this.‘

“We’ll make it up to you when you get out.”

On my very first day in Shadowpine Prison, my eyes were doused in pepper water.

I was forced to ingest silverbane daily, nearly shattering my Inner Wolf.

For three years, I lived in a living hell.

When my sentence finally ended, Jaxson sent his enforcers to pick me up.

But when I saw those familiar, cruel faces–the very guards who had abused me in my cell–my mind

fractured.

I ran blindly into the forbidden depths of the Shadowpine forest.

There, I was struck by a dark magic curse and lost my memory entirely.

I opened my eyes, my gaze clear and freezing.

Looking at the man and woman standing before me, the unfamiliarity was gone.

It was replaced by a deep, ancient hatred that settled into my very bones.

Jaxson eagerly wrapped his arms around me, wiping the blood from my lips.

“How is it, my love? Do you remember now?”

I stared directly into his eyes, speaking every word with lethal precision. “I remember.”

“I remember that you are my enemy. The monster who murdered my mother and my child.”

Jaxson’s face drained of color. He stumbled back several steps, turning to the healer.

“What’s wrong with my Luna?”

Ava stepped forward, holding a thick silver needle.

“Jaxson, it seems her memoryisn’t fully restored.

“Our pack has an old medical treatment.

“If we drive this needle directly into her temple, she will definitely remember everything.”

Looking at the wicked silver needle, Jaxson hesitated.

Before he could speak, the butler knocked urgently on the door.

“Alpha, Alpha Alistair Thorne has arrived.”

Jaxson’s expression hardened. “Why is he here?”

Ava offered a sweet, reassuring smile. “Probably to discuss the trade agreement.”

“Go handle him, Jaxson. Leave Florence to me.

Seeing the confidence in her eyes, Jaxson didn’t hesitate. He turned and headed downstairs.

The moment the door clicked shut, Ava’s sweet expression rotted away.

She grabbed my jaw, her fingers digging in with vicious force.

“Florence, you worthless bitch. Why did you have to come back?”

She raised the silver needle, aligning the tip with my temple.

“I won’t let any woman steal Jaxson from me. Just die already!”

The moment she leaned in close, I slammed my foot directly into her stomach.

I broke free from the chair and bolted for the door.
