The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 09

The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 09

“NOOOO” Aldric shouted and blasted me, Dopian and everything in the surrounding just so he stop me from stabbing myself.

And he did it in the most annoying and painful way without holding back.

My back slammed the wall and made my blood boil and rush up to my lips.

I had failed once again but this time I did not hesitate, I was just heavily weakened that despite acting fast I

was slow.

Pain struck my whole body as I opened my eyes slowly and spat out blood from my mouth with a bitter smile.

The white oak stake was laying beside me yet I lost the energy to move.

Growl!!!

The growl was from Dopian, he seemed to have taken a hit from Aldric, he head had a line of blood trail.

“Yara, HOW dare you?” Once he was i had no energy to reply of i wasn’t even planning on moving he switched to Aldric.

“Do not move and inch, let me handle this fool where” There weren’t al that cool with each other, the only thing that they had in common was Rose and that was a big issue.

Dopian married Rose but he knew Aldric was in love with Rose which pissed him off, same thing with Aldric.

Dopian crossed the room in a blink of an eyes and grabbed Aldric by his neck and was strangling his with his great strength

“How dare you attack me?”

“I was….trying to save… Yara life” Aldrich was lifted up and was choking in his hand. Then he decided i was enough.

how mouth started moving and he started casting a spell.

ARGHHH!!

Dopian groaned immediately releasing Aldrich ad he head his head and was slowly going down.

“You are the one that foolishly gave her the stake, you brought it upon yourself” Aldric said rubbing his neck and trying to breath.

“ENOUGH YOU HAVE MADE YOUR POINT. BEFORE IT GET BLOODLY!” Dopian shouted and Aldric dropped his spell and they turned at me who had taken advantage to drink the blood at the corner and i was waiting to recover and stab myself but.

But i was late.

Dorian stood abruptly. The chair scraped back. He picked up the stake beside me and for one suspended moment I genuinely didn’t know what he was going to do with it.

He threw it out of the narrow window.

I heard it clatter somewhere far deep below.

“You’re not dying in my kingdom,” he said. His voice came out rougher than I think he intended.

“Not here. Not like this. Not ever

And they both left.

I stared at the empty window for a long time later in the afternoon.

Then slowly, painfully, my body weak from wolfsbane and hunger and everything else – I pushed myself to my feet.

I looked out the window. The sunlight coming through it was pale and winter thin but it was there – and with my wolf side this suppressed my vampire instincts were screaming at me about exactly what prolonged exposure to direct sunlight would do to what I was becoming.

Claire had explained it in clinical detail two nights ago without being asked.

“It won’t be pleasant,” she had said. *But it would work. Eventually.”

I dragged the bed toward the wall beneath the window.

Climbed up.

Stretched toward the light.

The burning started immediately. Slow at first – just warmth, almost comfortable – and then deeper, the vampire half of me recoiling violently, my skin prickling and tightening and—

“WHAT IS SHE DOING-”

A nurse screamed. The door burst open and three of them pulled me down from the bed at once and I fought them – weakly, my hybrid strength guttering under the wolfsbane – until Aldric appeared in the doorway and cast a binding that sat me down hard on the mattress.

He looked at my arms. At the beginning of the burns already fading as my hybrid healing sluggishly kicked

He looked at me for a long time.

Then he sat down in the chair Dorian had left and put his face in his hands.

We stayed like that in silence for a while. Him with his face in his hands. Me watching the sunlight move across the stone floor.

“You know,” Claire said softly, “your mother is on her way.

My head came up.

“Tyson sent for her. He thought it might help.”

I closed my eyes.

Mom.

Finished

She arrived just before dark.

She came through the door and stopped when she saw me – really saw me, the way mothers do, taking in everything at once that I had learned to hide from everyone else. The weight I had lost. The shadows under my eyes. The way I was sitting like someone who had forgotten how to take up space.

She crossed the room and pulled me into her arms without saying a word.

I didn’t cry. I had nothing left to cry with.

But I let her hold me, at some point i felt the hug relieve me inwardly. I pressed my face into her shoulder and breathed and for one moment – just one – the hunger and the wolfsbane and the cold stone walls all went somewhere else.

“Tell me,” she said into my hair. “All of it. From the beginning, a lot of things is going on i don’t know.”

So I did.

I told her everything. About Rose. About the lies. About the rogue accusation and Tyson hitting me and Aldric screaming at me and Dorian forgetting every promise he had ever made. About the binding reversal and Brian and the Hollow Tower and the sunlight this morning.

Mom didn’t interrupt. She didn’t tell me to be strong. She just listened to everything i said and held on tighter with every word.

When I finished she was quiet for a long time.

“You carried all of that,” she finally said. “Alone.”

“There was no one else.”

She pulled back and took my face in her hands – both of them, cupping my cheeks the way she used to when I was small and frightened and the world was too loud.

“I believe you,” she said. “Every word. I always believed you.”

Something broke open in my chest. Small and quiet and devastating.

“Mom, then why didn’t you say so?” My voice came out like a child’s. I hated it.

“Because I was afraid of what they would do to you if I took your side openly.” Her eyes were wet. “I was a coward. And I am so sorry.”

We stayed like that for a long time. Her hands on my face. The Hollow Tower quiet around us.

“I have to go Mom,” I said eventually but i didn’t say it out loud. Just in my heart, practicing the words I knew were coming.

She seemed to hear it anyway.

“Not yet,” she whispered. “Please. Not yet.”

I didn’t answer her.

I didn’t make a promise I couldn’t keep.
