He Used His Secret Mistress for Revenge Chapter 09

He Used His Secret Mistress for Revenge Chapter 09 The Daughter Who Came Home

The cab stopped outside the estate gates.

The moment I entered the courtyard, I saw Father waiting.

There was no need to ask how he knew.

Vito must have contacted him immediately after recognizing me.

We had not seen each other for a year.

Father had aged far more than I expected.

His hair had turned white at both temples, several deep lines crossed his face, and his once-straight back had become noticeably stooped.

The instant he saw me, tears filled his eyes.

He rushed forward and pulled me into his arms.

We clung to each other and sobbed uncontrollably.

All the guilt and grief accumulated over the past year finally broke free.

It took a long time before either of us could calm down.

Father brought me into the living room and sat beside me on the sofa, holding my hand so tightly that he refused to release it.

“All that matters is that you’re home, my daughter. I spent every day of this year blaming myself. I thought my failure to notice your suffering drove you to your death. I believed I would never see you again.”

I wiped the tears from my face.

At last, I asked the question I had carried for so long.

“Dad, what really happened between you, Vito, and Lucia all those years ago?”

Father told me everything.

He explained Lucia’s betrayal, the lies she invented, and the way she reversed the blame and turned Vito against him.

Only then did I fully understand that Vito had been deceived from the beginning and had poured all his hatred onto me.

Elsewhere, after leaving the airport, Vito immediately found Lucia.

He played Mario’s surveillance footage in front of her and exposed every lie.

Once her disguise collapsed, Lucia fell to her knees and begged Vito for forgiveness.

She cried that she had only made a foolish mistake and that she wanted another chance to win back his

heart.

Before she could finish, a group of loan sharks arrived.

Lucia had accumulated an enormous high-interest debt and had no ability to repay it.

Vito showed no mercy.

He handed Lucia directly to the collectors and ordered them to send her to an overseas forced-labor camp

She was forbidden to return for the rest of her life.

With that, Vito severed every remaining tie between them.

News of Lucia’s fate reached me soon afterward.

I felt no sympathy.

Vito had always handled betrayal with ruthless finality.

Lucia had created her own ending.

After I settled back home, Vito appeared near the estate almost every day.

Sometimes, he parked across the road and remained inside his car for an entire afternoon.

Other times, he stood alone beyond the iron fence and watched the living room windows.

He never dared to approach the door.

He never called and disturbed me.

Vito understood that he had personally crushed every bit of love I once held for him.

He had hurt, deceived, and humiliated me again and again.

He had caused the death of our unborn child.

No amount of regret could give him the right to approach me again, much less ask for forgiveness.

Whenever I went shopping or handled the family’s business, I occasionally saw him in the distance.

I never slowed.

I walked past without looking in his direction and gave him no opportunity to speak.

Father noticed everything.

He repeatedly warned me to stay away from Vito and never give him another chance to hurt me.
