They Loved Their White Moonlight, Till I Disappeared Forever Chapter 16

Once we were indoors, Seraphina waved everyone away. She seized my chin, her face inches from mine.

“You wanted to ask for help, didn’t you? Keep dreaming. You think they don’t know you’re suffering? They just don’t care.”

I smiled faintly and raised my hand, brushing my fingers against her lips.

Her lips quickly turned a dark, purplish-black.

I hadn’t been asking those men for help.

I had been provoking Seraphina.

My hand was smeared with the fluid from the poisonous

beetles. A moment ago, I had also brushed it against the oleander pollen on Matteo’s sleeve. Mixed together, the two substances created a fast-acting poison.

And the lingering sedative in my own body just happened to

neutralize it.

Realizing something was wrong, Seraphina turned, trying to

run to Matteo for help.

From behind, I wrapped my arms around her legs, holding on

tight.

The noise from the room must have sounded like just another

one of Seraphina’s torture sessions. No one came to check.

Seraphina died right in front of me.

I licked the last of the poison from my hand and felt a brief surge of strength return to my limbs.
