I looked at him, completely calm. Carter was handsome, seriously handsome, but something

always felt missing.

His eyes were blazing red. And that was when it hit me. Carter didn’t have a mole under his eye. I’d

never thought a guy with an under-eye mole looked good-until Miles.

Same thing with his personality. Before Miles, I thought Carter was a good guy. Now? He just felt
