My Husband Saved My Cousin Instead of Me Chapter 13

My Husband Saved My Cousin Instead of Me Chapter 13

A few days later, intimate photos of Cecilia hooking up with different men overseas leaked online. Dylan had captured every single one from the shadows.

She was way too high-profile. The second she came back and started doing shows and interviews, combined

with my dad’s shameless promotion, everybody knew she was Gavin West’s wife.

Paparazzi camped outside the West Group headquarters, asking if the CEO had any issue with his wife

playing the field so hard.

This was Gavin’s moment. All he had to do was have his lawyers call the photos fakes, and the public would’ve bought it. Nobody was going to fly overseas just to fact-check some tabloid gossip.

But I sent Gavin a picture of our marriage certificate. [If you don’t want Cecilia destroyed, agree to the divorce

now.]

He video-called from a new number. His face looked absolutely wrecked. “Sage, where the hell have you

been for days? Why didn’t you come home? I’ve been searching everywhere for you, and you blocked me.”

I shook my head. “You were the one who told me to leave and reflect.”

Cecilia had wanted to invite reporters home for an interview and sweet-talked Gavin into sending me away

for a bit. But he changed his mind. I just never went back.

Gavin was consumed with regret. “But I didn’t actually send you away. The housekeeper told me you packed

up and left without a word.”

“Grandpa ripped me a new one. Said if I can’t even hold onto my wife, how the hell am I supposed to run a

company?”

He said he knew he’d screwed up. A moment of pure blindness. My parents stirred the pot until he thought I

was the issue. But after seeing the photos of Cecilia with all those men, he finally realized she’d been lying

through her teeth.

I sighed. “None of that matters anymore. You know my father. If you don’t marry Cecilia right now, he’ll make

your life hell. So if you don’t want the West Group dragged into the gutter, sign the damn papers and go

marry her.”

Gavin’s face went cold. “Is that why you’re so determined to divorce me? Because of Dylan? Cecilia told me

you were in love with him as a kid. Said you promised you’d marry him.”

I couldn’t even scrape up the energy to get angry. “Yeah, sure. She also told me aliens are invading Earth

tomorrow. You’d better book a seat on the next spaceship off this planet.”

He paused, his face twisting into something even harder to read. “Believe whatever you want. You’re the only

one in my heart. Everything I’ve done was to fix things between you and your family.”

When a man repeats a lie enough times, he ends up swallowing it himself.
