After I Lost My Memory, My Star Athlete Boyfriend Said We Broke Up Chapter 08

“You don’t need to hand me any trophies in the future.” Camille regarded him calmly. “I am merely your agent. If you want to dedicate trophies to someone, present them to Ms. Shawn”

Killian stared for a heartbeat, then let out a harsh, bitter laugh. “Very well. Have it your way.”

He turned toward Maren and made the promise openly, right in front of Camille. “All my trophies will belong to you from now on.”

He paused, emphasizing every word. “Some people can wish for these achievements all they want, but these achievements will never belong to them again.”

The comment section instantly split into warring factions.

[That’s way too cruel. Does he truly understand what that trophy meant? How can he say such things to her face?]

[He just hasn’t admitted how he feels yet! Once he realizes he loves Camille, he’ll beg for her forgiveness!]

[Stop making excuses for him! An apology doesn’t erase everything he’s done!]

[Then what do you expect? The story is destined to end with them together. She’ll forgive him eventually. Aren’t we right?]

Camille couldn’t believe the novel’s supposed plot twist: after all this humiliation, she was meant to forgive him.

She lifted her gaze. Killian stared back at her, impatient.

Over these past days, the live comments had listed countless signs of his love for her.

He would drive halfway across the city deep into the night just to bring her favorite snacks.

On her birthday, he’d coordinated with his whole team to set off fireworks outside the training grounds after practice ended.

When she was hospitalized with a back injury, he’d clumsily taught himself to cook and delivered meals to her for three straight months.

Those memories might all be true. That was why the old Camille had loved him so fiercely.

But love that has already faded cannot be revived by nostalgia alone.

No matter how hard the comments tried to justify him, Killian no longer loved her. That was the plain truth Camille saw before her eyes. And she would only trust what she witnessed firsthand.

Camille wasted no more time, meeting his gaze steadily. “Get out.”

Killian stiffened, caught off guard by the ice in her tone. “What did you say?”

Camille repeated herself. “Leave. Schedule an appointment before coming to my office from now on. That’s basic courtesy.”

Killian’s expression darkened instantly. “Fine, Camille. Don’t regret walking away when it’s too late.”

With that, he grabbed Maren’s arm and stormed out.

Camille knelt and gathered the broken shards one by one.

The comments streamed endlessly.

[Don’t be stubborn. I know how much pain you’re in, but he’s hurting just as badly!]

[He’s standing right outside your office door. If you walk out and apologize, all of this can be fixed.]

Camille ignored everything. She dumped all the fragments into the trash can, closing the chapter on their relationship once and for all.

She never contacted Killian again after that day. He acted as if she no longer existed, appearing in public alongside Maren without any attempt at secrecy.

Rumors about them spread everywhere, yet Killian never issued a single comment.

Camille paid no mind. She traveled across the globe, scouting promising young soccer talent.

One month later, Killian had just finished training when a teammate wandered over, a teasing edge to his voice. “Your agent’s something else. She managed to sign three unknown young prospects to Bayern and Real Madrid respectively. Everyone in the industry is talking about her.”

The teammate clapped him on the shoulder. “Killian, you’d better step up your game. You’re no longer her only player. Don’t get outshone by new talent—that would be embarrassing.”

Killian’s footsteps halted abruptly, disbelief flooding his features. “What did you say…”

Before the sentence finished, he spun around and sprinted off the soccer field.

His sports car tore down the street, engine roaring as the speedometer climbed dangerously high.

Killian gripped the steering wheel tight. Rage churned violently inside him, burning like wildfire. Beneath the anger lingered a fear he refused to acknowledge.

He replayed Camille’s old promise on loop in his head: I will only ever sign you.

The turbulent anxiety slowly hardened into resolve.

Killian arrived at Camille’s agency. Learning she was locked in a meeting, he pushed past his secretary and shoved the conference room door open so hard it banged against the wall.

As the door slammed, Camille’s voice reached his ears. “My plan is to build Silas York into a soccer superstar comparable to Killian within three years…”

Killian froze, his chest heaving as the words sank in.
