After I Lost My Memory, My Star Athlete Boyfriend Said We Broke Up Chapter 07

[…Holy hell.]

Camille tightened her grip on the wheel. Only then did her eyes begin to burn—a delayed physical reaction her mind still couldn’t fully process.

From that day onward, Killian cut her out of every professional decision without warning.

Her schedule emptied out, leaving her adrift, unsure how to fill her days.

She turned to her assistant. “Do we have any projects I can work on?”

Her assistant thought for a moment. “Ms. Logan, the rural soccer field we funded back in your hometown is finished. Want to bring a few journalists out for a promotional shoot?”

She added softly, “You could use the break.”

Camille nodded.

After years away, she stood before the brand-new green pitch. The weight that had clung to her chest for months eased a little.

Her gaze drifted, locking onto a teenage boy out on the field.

He looked eighteen or nineteen, shirtless, lean yet powerfully built. The ball seemed to respond to his slightest touch, an extension of his own body.

The boy spun, breezing past multiple defenders with ease, then lifted his foot to shoot. There was untamed ferocity in his movement, yet his eyes burned with pure passion and ambition for the game.

Camille watched him sprint across the grass, and her heart skipped a beat. She would sign him, no matter the cost.

When the match ended, the teen was unanimously named MVP.

Camille walked over and met his eyes. “I’m Camille Logan, a sports agent. Would you be interested in attending next week’s elite trial camp?”

The boy blinked. “A trial camp?”

“With a pathway to the Premier League—if you earn it.”

A grin spread across his face, sharp and hungry. “Alright. I’m in.”

……

On the flight back, the live comments urged Camille to backtrack.

[Wait a second—isn’t Killian supposed to be her only player? This plot is falling apart!]

[Killian is insanely possessive. If he finds out she signed a new prospect behind his back, he’ll think she betrayed him!]

[Camille, don’t make a reckless choice! You can still fix things with him!]

Camille ignored every line. The moment she returned, she finalized the teen’s contract and hired the best possible coach for him without delay.

Once everything was arranged, she headed back to her office—only to find Killian standing there with Maren, completely unapologetic.

Worse still, he’d taken a trophy from her display case and let Maren toy with it.

The comments rolled rapidly again.

[Killian, stop digging your own grave! That’s the first championship trophy he won after getting together with Camille!]

[Do you remember what you swore? You said you’d only share every honor with her. What are you doing letting Maren handle it? Even if you’re trying to hurt her, there’s a line!]

Camille’s gaze fixed on the trophy.

Though her memories were gone, her heart didn’t lie. A quiet instinct screamed at her: Take it back.

She stepped forward with a cold expression, reaching out. “Give that to me.”

Maren had spotted her long before, but she pretended to be startled. Her fingers slipped, and the trophy crashed onto the floor.

A chunk of the trophy chipped off.

Maren feigned remorse. “Oh no, I’m so sorry, Camille. I lost my grip. You aren’t mad, right?”

Killian’s face tightened instinctively, his hand twitching as if to catch it mid-fall, yet when he glanced at Camille, he brushed it off and comforted Maren. “It’s fine. Camille won’t hold this against you.”

Their words hung in the air, hollow and grating.

Camille knelt to pick up the broken trophy. Faint, distant words washed over her—the promise Killian had once spoken to her.

“Camille, this is the first trophy I’ve given you. There will be a second, a third.”

“But more than anything, I want you beside me every single time I lift a championship.”

Her vision swam for a fraction of a second before snapping back into focus. She lifted her head and looked straight at Killian.

Killian froze at the sight of her watery eyes. The shock faded, replaced by sudden irritation. “Why are you staring at me like that? If you hadn’t walked in out of nowhere, Maren wouldn’t have dropped it. Who’s really to blame here?”

“Besides, it’s just one trophy. I’ll bring home something far more valuable for you at the World Cup—”

“Don’t bother.” Camille cut him off.

Without warning, she raised the trophy and hurled it hard against the floor.

CRASH! The trophy shattered completely into pieces.

Camille locked eyes with a stunned Killian, speaking slowly and deliberately. “You’re right. If it’s broken beyond repair, then let it stay broken.”
