The Silent Heir Heard Every Secret I Hid Chapter 04

The next morning, I was eating breakfast in the living room when Leith came downstairs in running clothes.

Normally, I would’ve chased after him, teasing him the whole way.

One lap was about all I could manage. Then I’d stand there and watch him finish the other nine.

Then I would meet him with a paper towel.

Not to wipe his face, of course.

I would lift his shirt and wipe the sweat from his abs instead.

…

I lowered my head and kept eating.

Leith stood beside me for a few seconds before walking out with a dark look on his face.

By the time I finished breakfast, I was stretched out on the couch scrolling through my phone.

Leith came back soaked in sweat.

He opened the refrigerator, grabbed a bottle of ice-cold water, and tipped his head back to drink.

My eyes followed the movement of his throat.

I swallowed.

Then I remembered the comments and immediately looked away.

Eyes up.

Behave.

Do NOT stare.

Leith suddenly pulled off his shirt.

Sweat slid down the ridges of his abs, traced the sharp V-lines at his hips, and disappeared beneath the waistband of his shorts.

I forgot how to breathe.

Then the comments appeared.

[The male lead looks lean in clothes, but underneath? PERFECT muscle.]

[Villainess, stop looking! Someone cover her eyes!]

[Imagine being stared at by someone you hate. That’s harassment too.]

That snapped me out of it.

I jumped off the couch and hurried upstairs.

Behind me, Leith’s thoughts rang out.

[What is going on?]

[This is driving me INSANE!]

He really was sick of me.

I quickened my pace.

For some reason, my chest hurt.
