I Was The Wrong Girl In His Bed For Three Years Chapter 06

Graham leaned in.

His cool cedar scent hit me all at once.

I backed up until the car door stopped me.

“What are you…”

He didn’t answer.

His hand found the back of my neck, and his mouth crashed down on mine.

Before, I was always the one reaching for him.

I’d rise onto my toes to kiss him, press myself into his arms on purpose.

He never pushed me away, but his expression never changed either.

Like he was checking a box.

This was different.

Graham kissed me like he meant it.

His arms locked around my waist and pulled me flush against him.

There was nowhere to go.

My knees buckled. I grabbed fistfuls of his shirt just to stay upright.

“Graham…”

He pulled back just enough to press his forehead against mine. His breathing was as ragged as my

own.

His

eyes, always so cold, were pitch-black now.

“Maren. Say that again.”

His thumb dragged across my lower lip. His voice came out raw.

“This is one thing I don’t lose at.”

Heat crawled up my neck. My heart was hammering.

I didn’t know where he’d learned any of this.

He used to be all force, no finesse. Now he knew exactly when to ease off, when to pull back right as

I ran out of air, when to come back softer.

Every touch felt like a trap I wanted to fall into.

And it was working.

If this had happened a week agu, I would’ve been so happy I couldn’t see straight.

But the comments appeared.

[LMAO she doesn’t actually think Graham wants her all of a sudden, right? This is pure competitive

ego.]

[A guy doesn’t have to love you to lose his mind when you call him bad in bed. No man can let that

slide.]

[Sloane’s back, and he’s been leveling up his game. She’s just the warm-up round. Don’t let her flatter herself.]

All I’d done was wound his pride. That’s all this was, him proving a point.

Everything he’d just shown me, he’d learned it for Sloane.

I was just the practice run.

That tiny flicker of warmth in my chest went out like someone had snuffed out a candle.

When he leaned in again, I shoved him back.

“No.”

The tears came before I could stop them.

“Graham, what am I to you?”

Graham froze the second he saw my tears.

He reached for my face.

I turned away.

His hand hung in the air.

It took a long time before he pulled it back.

“I’m sorry.”

The ride home was suffocating.

He didn’t touch me again. But he didn’t stop looking at me either.

His eyes were dark, intent, like he was trying to hold me captive with his stare alone.

I couldn’t take it. I turned and stared out the window.

[She’s so ungrateful. They’re not even divorced yet and she won’t let Graham touch her after he FINALLY made a move? Does she not realize how hard it’s been for him to hold back?]

[Bruh… he’s been holding back? What is wrong with you people? When she clung to Graham, you called her a clingy trophy wife. Now that she’s pulled back, you call her ungrateful. Is she supposed to just stop existing?]

[THANK YOU. I’ve been wanting to say this. Sloane stole HER photos and catfished Graham. She had no idea. She never stole anyone else’s identity. She’s been the victim this entire time.]

The comments continued.

I didn’t want to read anymore.

When we got home, I locked the guest room door.

I crawled under the covers and cried until my pillow was soaked.
