My Son Told Me I Was Too Ugly And Stupid Compared To Her Chapter 06

Jessica kept going, acting like she was just looking out for him. But Charles felt no gratitude at all.

He just asked, “Why was your shirt in Emily’s car?”

For a split second, Jessica’s face went blank. Then she looked confused. “I don’t know. Maybe I left

it there by accident when I rode with her once.”

“There was blood on it.”

She looked even more bewildered. “Blood? Why would there be blood? What happened?”

Charles watched her closely. He only felt exhausted and detached.

He sighed. “I’m going to take a shower. Let’s get some sleep.”

They lay down together. Late that night, Charles opened his eyes. He quietly took Jessica’s phone

and left the room.

He unlocked it easily and started digging. She’d been careful. Everything was clean.

Just as he was starting to think he’d been wrong, he found a payment.

Fifteen thousand dollars. Why had she spent that much?

He tracked down the recipient. And then he finally found something.

He shook with rage. He pulled Jessica out of bed by her arm. “You bitch!”

She looked up at him in fear. “What did I do? Charles, don’t.”

“Still pretending?” He held up her phone.

She froze. Then she laughed. “So what if I did? Are you upset? That woman cheated on you and you

still care about her?”

Charles didn’t have the nerve to tell her he’d orchestrated that so-called affair. He just stared at her with contempt.

“That’s none of your business. Who do you think you are? What goes on between us is none of your damn business.”

Jessica went white. She screamed and smashed a glass on the floor. “How dare you? I’m carrying

your baby!”

He looked away coldly. “So what? Emily and I have Jacob.”

Then he remembered. “You put that bloody shirt in her car. You faked your own disappearance.”

“So what if I did?” Jessica’s laughing turned manic. “You promised you’d divorce her. But you didn’t. And then you wanted to take my baby away.”

“What was I supposed to think? You made me do this! You’re selfish and cold. I did it for myself and

my child. And I’d do it again.”

Tears spilled down her cheeks. “Tell me. What does she have that I don’t? Tell me!”

Watching her spiral, Charles felt his heart go cold. He didn’t understand what he’d ever seen in her.

“She has everything you don’t,” He heard how icy his voice sounded.

Jessica flew at him, hitting him. “You’re an animal! How can you do this to me? After everything

I’ve done for you?”

She was crying, her face distorted, all her earlier smugness gone.

Charles looked up at the ceiling and took a deep breath. “Get an abortion. I’ll give you money. You’re young. You can find someone decent.”

“I don’t want to hear it!” She shrieked, hate burning in her eyes.

“You think if you do this, Emily will forgive you? She won’t. You don’t know women. After what you

did, she’ll hate you forever.”

“Shut up!” Charles’s face twisted.

He slapped her hard, turned and left abruptly.
