I Stopped My Kind Son From Being Framed Chapter 10

I Stopped My Kind Son From Being Framed Chapter 10

Arthur scrambled to catch the flying papers. The moment he glanced at them, his face turned deathly pale.

The documents contained solid evidence of his corporate embezzlement over the past few years, along with

bank statements proving he had been funding a mistress.

“How… how did you get your hands on this?”

“The truth always comes out, Arthur.” I looked at him coldly.

“Did you honestly think Mr. Harrington would be grateful to you just because you sold your son out for a few

million dollars?”

“I’ve already packaged the evidence of Logan’s extortion along with the materials detailing Mr. Harrington’s corporate bribery. It’s already on its way to the federal investigators.”

Arthur collapsed straight to the floor.

“You reported Harrington? You’re insane! He’s going to destroy me!”

The old lady was completely petrified, her cane slipping from her hand and clattering to the ground.

“Get out,” I said, pointing toward the door.

“9 AM tomorrow morning at my attorney’s office. If you don’t show up, I’ll dump these documents directly into your company’s main communications channel.”

Three months later.

The local District Court.

Chloe Jenkins stood in the defendant’s box wearing a bright orange jumpsuit. Her hair was dry and brittle,

and she had lost so much weight she looked entirely unrecognizable.

Her entire body was shaking, her eyes completely vacant.

Logan Harrington stood right beside her, his face equally dead.

The judge slammed the gavel.

“The court finds the defendant, Chloe Jenkins, guilty of fabricating evidence to maliciously frame another

individual for personal gain, an offense deemed severe under university and state guidelines. Furthermore,

the defendant engaged in criminal extortion. Under consecutive sentencing, the defendant is sentenced to

three years and six months in state prison.”

“The defendant, Logan Harrington, acting as an accessory, is sentenced to two years.”

The moment the verdict was read, Chloe collapsed completely to the floor.

She spun her head around, staring directly at me through the crowded courtroom.

Tears finally spilled uncontrollably down her face.

Once the hearing concluded, I walked out of the courthouse.

Arthur Miller was crouching on the steps outside, sporting a ragged, unshaven face.

After Mr. Harrington was taken down, Arthur’s company was dragged into the investigation and went straight

into forced liquidation.

Not only was he drowning in massive debt, but his mistress had also cleaned out his remaining accounts

and fled.

Seeing me walk out, he crawled over on his hands and knees, completely desperate.

“Valerie! I know I messed up! Please help me, just lend me some cash! The loan sharks are going to break my hands!”

Looking at the man I used to share a bed with, I felt absolutely nothing.

“You brought this on yourself, Arthur.”

I didn’t even waste another second looking at him. I walked straight past him toward the car parked by the

curb.

Ethan was leaning against the passenger door, waiting for me.

The moment he saw me, a bright smile broke across his face.

“Is it finally over, Mom?”

“It’s over.”

I opened the door and climbed into the passenger seat.

Ethan started the engine.

“Mom, the university finally released the National Merit funds today. I used the money to book a table at that

rooftop restaurant downtown. Tonight, we celebrate.”

I turned to look at him.

In my past life, the boy had jumped from the roof of the science building in absolute despair. Right now, he was holding the steering wheel, driving straight toward a bright future.

“Sounds perfect,” I smiled.

That evening, at the revolving restaurant downtown.

Ethan raised his glass, which was filled with grape juice.

“To you, Mom. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably be ruined by now.”

I raised my glass and clinked it against his.

“To clearing your name.”

Six months after the incident, Hudson University underwent a massive internal restructuring.

Vice Chancellor Davis was reassigned to a minor administrative role due to his failure to oversee the

department properly.

The university established strict anti-defamation protocols. Any future allegations involving a student’s safety or reputation had to be handled immediately by law enforcement, and administration was strictly

barred from applying private pressure.

At the same time, every single fire exit and blind spot on campus was fitted with high-definition security

cameras.

The security system I donated became the most solid line of defense on campus.

As for Chloe Jenkins.

Word reached me that her behavior in prison was atrocious. She tried to pull her usual fragile victim act on her cellmates, only to get brutally beaten multiple times by a few of the more aggressive inmates.

Her parents couldn’t survive in their hometown either.

The old extortion case from high school was officially reopened by the local authorities department. Both of them were placed under criminal detention, and the suburban house they had recently bought was seized and auctioned off by the court to compensate the original victim.

Arthur Miller vanished completely.

Some people claimed they saw him working manual labor in some underground sweatshop down south, while others said he fled the country to escape the debt collectors.

I didn’t care anymore.

Ethan was thriving in college. By the end of his freshman year, he had not only maintained his top scholarship status but was also fast-tracked into the university’s elite research laboratory.

On a Sunday afternoon.

Ethan and I were picking up groceries at the supermarket.

While waiting in the checkout line, an old woman in front of us started making a scene, haggling over a dime and demanding the cashier let it slide.

“I’m just a lonely old widow living off recycling! Can’t you people just show some Christian charity?”

The old woman sat straight down on the floor, weeping loudly.

The shoppers around us began whispering and pointing fingers.

Ethan pushed the cart, watching the entire scene in complete silence.

He turned his head to look at me.

“Mom, do you think I should just pay the dime for her?”

I raised an eyebrow.

“What do you think?”

Ethan grinned, casting a sharp glance over the old woman.

“Ma’am, that solid 14k gold chain around your neck looks like it weighs at least an ounce.”

The old woman instantly clutched her collar, scrambled up from the floor, slammed a dollar coin onto the counter, and bolted out the door in total embarrassment.

I looked at Ethan.

He had finally grown up.

Sharp, rational, and possessing a solid set of boundaries.

He was no longer the naive kid who could be held hostage by a few fake tears.

I pushed the cart and walked out of the supermarket.

The sun outside was bright, and the breeze was perfectly cool.

Everything was exactly the way it was supposed to be.
