He Cheated For Three Years And Asked Me To Save Her Baby Chapter 06

The hospital room was quiet.

I looked at him.

This man I had once loved with everything I had.

I would never forgive him.

Never.

I opened my mouth, about to say something.

Then my gaze moved past his shoulder and landed on the doorway.

Blythe stood there in a hospital gown.

Her face was pale. One hand gripped the doorframe.

Brennan stood behind her, supporting her.

She looked at me.

Then she looked at Calloway, kneeling beside

my

bed.

In that moment, her eyes held jealousy, unwillingness, and most of all, fear.

Not fear of me.

Fear of losing.

I looked at her and suddenly smiled.

“Come in,” I said, “No need to stand at the door.”

Calloway lifted his head sharply and followed my gaze.

His face went white for a second.

Blythe walked in, weak and slow.

She came to Calloway’s side and rested her fingers on his shoulder.

“Calloway, your bone marrow saved me. I’m grateful.”

“But don’t do this. Don’t pity me. Don’t feel responsible for me. I don’t need it anymore.”

Her voice was soft and fragile.

“Maren, I know you suffered.”

“I truly don’t know how to repay you.”

I looked at her.

Ten years.

She still knew how to play the same role.

Always the victim.

Always apologizing.

Always protected by everyone around her.

Her voice broke.

“All these years, I’ve wronged you. I’ve been hurting Maren again and again.”

She lowered her head. Tears fell to the floor.

“Please don’t fight because of me anymore, okay?”

Calloway said nothing.

He only looked at the hand she had placed on his shoulder.

A long moment passed.

Then he stood slowly.

And with a firm, almost deliberate motion, he removed her hand.

Blythe froze.

It was the first time Calloway had rejected her touch in front of her.

“You haven’t recovered yet.”

“Go back to your room.”

Blythe looked at him, tears gathering in her eyes.

“Calloway?”

“Brennan.”

Calloway didn’t look at her. His gaze moved to Brennan at the door.

“Take her back.”

Brennan frowned, then stepped forward and took Blythe by the arm.

“Come on.”

Blythe didn’t move.

She stared at Calloway, her lips trembling.

“Are you…”

She didn’t finish.

But she understood everything.

She knew she might never win him back again.

Her tears fell harder.

“Calloway, I thought you loved me most. How could you fall in love with her?”

Calloway said nothing.

In the end, Brennan pulled her away.

The door closed.

Only Calloway and I remained.

He stood there with his back to me, his shoulders drawn tight.

After a long time, he turned and crouched beside my bed again, meeting my eyes.

“I won’t see her again.”

“I promise From now on…”

“There is no from now on.”

I cut him off.

“We’re getting divorced, Calloway. You’re free to see whoever you want.”

His eyes reddened, and he shook his head stubbornly.

“I told you. I’m not divorcing you.”

I looked at him.

This man, with red eyes and stubbornness like a child, had finally realized he couldn’t lose me.

He had finally realized who he couldn’t let go.

Too bad.

It was too late.
