The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 10By Novel7s / July 22, 2026 The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 10After the Royal Warriors leave, the neighborhood returns to silence.I ask Edmund to wait in the living room. Then I turn and walk back into Vicky’s room.Outside the window, distant car horns echo. Dogs bark somewhere downstairs. Someone is cookingdinner. The world continues moving as usual. Only the time inside this room has stopped. The plastic flowers on the windowsill have already faded.Vicky bought them at a pack gathering when she was eight years old.She picked a pink one and a white one.The pink one was for me. The white one was for herself.“Hayley, this is a rose. It’s very expensive.”She stood on her tiptoes and handed it to me. Her nose was covered in sweat from running around.“When I grow up and make money, I’ll buy you real roses.”I still keep that plastic rose. It sits on my bedside table in the Royal Castle. But this white one is still here. Covered in dust. One petal has a small crack.I kneel down and pull out the metal box hidden under the bed. Inside are Vicky’s belongings.Among them is her thick diary. Most of it is filled with words written for me.[Hayley, I got first place in class today. Mrs. Hall praised me.][Hayley, I’ve grown two centimeters taller. Soon I’ll be as tall as you.][Hayley, I had a dream that you came to see me.][Hayley, I miss you so bad.]I hold the diary against my chest. And finally… I break down. Not silent tears. Not quiet sadness. A broken, trembling cry that I can no longer hold back.“Hayley.”I don’t know when Edmund enters the room. He kneels beside me and wraps both me and the diaryin his arms. His coat carries the scent of cedar. It feels completely out of place in this moldy, forgotten room.“Don’t cry,” His voice is steady and reassuring, “You brought Vicky justice.”I clutch his collar, my body shaking from crying.“Ed…” My voice is hoarse, “Vicky never even got the chance to go to Lunaris.”“I know.”“She said she wanted to see Starfall Lake with me. She wanted to visit the Royal Castle.”“I know.”“She said she wanted to wear that dress in her graduation photos.”“I know, Hayley. I know everything.”Outside, the sky turns completely dark. The room remains unlit. Only a faint yellow glow from the streetlight shines through the window. It falls on the medals. On the trophies. On Vicky’s photograph. The girl in the picture is still smiling. Her eyes are curved like crescents. As if she has never beenhurt.I visit my father at the rehabilitation center.“Dad, do you know why Vicky jumped?”The person lying on the bed doesn’t move.I lean close to his ear and whisper. His tightly closed eyelids begin to tremble. A single tear slidesfrom the corner of his eye.“Where were you when Vicky was being hurt?”“You were gambling. You were drinking. You were fighting with Mom.”“You refused to let her see us. You refused to let us see her. You used Vicky as a weapon againstMom.”“You treated your own daughter like a hostage. You don’t deserve to be our father.”I turn around.I open the door. Then calmly say my final words.“I’ll let you stay here forever. Whether you hate me, or regret everything, it doesn’t matter anymore.”Three days later, I return to the Royal Castle.Mom sits in the garden drinking afternoon tea as usual. She only looks up at me briefly.“You’re back?”I don’t answer. I walk over and place the stuffed toy in her lap.It is Vicky’s rabbit plushie. The birthday gift Mom gave her when she turned three. After the divorce, Dad threw away everything connected to Mom. Vicky managed to hide only thisrabbit.Mom stares at the old toy for a long time.Have I ever seen my mother cry? Almost never,She values elegance and dignity above everything. Even when she divorced Trevor, she didn’t sheda single tear. But now, holding this old stuffed rabbit, she buries her face against it and breaks down crying.I don’t want to watch anymore. I turn and walk out of the gate.Outside, the sunlight is warm. So warm that it reminds me of many years ago.The afternoon when Vicky first said: “Hay, Hay, I love you.”The sunlight was just as warm then. Her tiny hand held tightly onto my finger. Her childish voice repeated again and again.“I love you, Hayley.”“I love you.”I love you too, Vicky bear.Forever.
