The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 09

The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 09

The apartment is tiny.

The living room and kitchen are connected together.

There is only a folding table, two chairs, and an old wardrobe.

The air is filled with the smell of dust.

Everything is covered in a thin layer of dirt, yet everything is arranged neatly.

“Is there no one else in your family?”

Chris stands at the doorway, his voice filled with confusion.

“There’s someone else.”

I walk to the bedroom on the right and push the door open.

It is a small room. Small enough that it can only fit a single bed and a desk.

Textbooks are still stacked neatly on the desk. Several worn-out pencils sit inside the pencil holder.

The walls are covered with medals and trophies.

From first grade of elementary school to high school, every single award represents first place.

Between the certificates are several photographs.

In the pictures, a girl with a ponytail smiles brightly.

Chris’s expression changes at that moment.

Confusion turns into shock. Shock turns into fear.

The color drains from his face layer by layer.

“I have another sister who passed away.” I look at him, “Her name was Vicky Gallant.”

I walk into the room and pick up a photo from the desk. It was taken when Vicky was three years old.

She is standing on her tiptoes, kissing my cheek while I laugh because of her.

When Mom presses the camera button, both of us are slightly blurry. The only thing that remains

clear is that little kiss.

“Do you know how she died?” I turn around and ask Chris with a smile.

Chris takes a step back. His back hits the doorframe, “I don’t know.”

His voice trembles, “I only know that she jumped from the building…”

“She jumped.”

I repeat those words and take another step toward him, “Yes, she died by jumping from the roof.”

“Do you know what she was wearing that day?”

Chris doesn’t answer. But his pupils slowly widen.

“A new dress. A white one.”

“It was beautiful. It was a gift from me.”

“She wore that dress to Neon Dusk because she thought Noah invited her. And then she met you.”

Chris’s breathing stops. His hand grips the doorframe, his knuckles turning white, “Hayley, listen

to me. That night…”

“I know everything that happened that night.”

I cut him off, my voice calm, “You invited her to Neon Dusk using Noah’s name. You and your friends, four people in total, tortured her for an entire night.”

“At six in the morning, you threw her outside the school gates while she was barely dressed.”

“At 7:17 a.m., she jumped from the school rooftop. She died instantly.”

Chris’s face turns as pale as paper.

He opens his mouth, wanting to explain. But I don’t give him the chance.

“Do you know why I transferred here?”

I take another step forward. He instinctively steps backward.

“Do you know why I approached you? Why I protected you from Noah?”

“She was even your mate. How could you do that to her?”

“Hayley, I…” Chris’s voice changes completely. The gentle and polite mask he always wears finally

cracks.

“But Vicky wasn’t the first.” My words make his entire body freeze.

“Before Vicky, there were three other girls. You handled everything perfectly.”

“Or rather… Alpha Ben handled everything perfectly for you.”

“One transferred away. One dropped out. And the last one…”

I pause, “She died too.”

“The case was labeled an accidental drowning.”

“But this time is different. Alpha Ben won’t protect you anymore.”

Chris once had the most powerful and wealthy Alpha in Rosewick backing him.

Even as an illegitimate son, Alpha Ben protected him because Chris was talented and capable.

My gambling-addicted father, Trevor, found out about Vicky’s death and rushed to the school

demanding compensation.

But before he could even enter the school, he was hit by a runaway car and left in a vegetative state

That was Alpha Ben’s doing.

Chris suddenly looks up. For the first time, real fear appears in his eyes.

“Now you’re not only a stray dog abandoned by Alpha Ben. You’re also a murderer.”

The moment I finish speaking, I kick him to the ground. I pick up the chair beside me and slam it

down.

Even if I beat him to death…

Even if I tear him apart piece by piece…

It still won’t erase the hatred burning inside my heart.

“I didn’t kill her!”

Chris screams while trying to dodge. Fear twists into madness in his eyes.

“She jumped herself! It had nothing to do with me!”

“If she hadn’t resisted…”

“If she had just listened…”

“I wouldn’t have…”

A fist crashes into his face.

Edmund rushes in, takes the chair from my hands, and pulls me into his arms.

“Hayley, calm down. Don’t let someone like him dirty your hands.”

Chris finally reacts. He stumbles to his feet and turns to run.

Heavy footsteps thunder down the stairs. Then come the sounds of urgent brakes and shouted

commands.

I walk to the window and look down. Royal Warriors have surrounded the area and rush upstairs.

Chris is forced to the ground. His hands are twisted behind his back.

A pair of silver handcuffs click shut around his wrists.
