The Scorned Princess’s Silent Vengeance Chapter 02

The Scorned Princess’s Silent Vengeance Chapter 02

A few bloody marks immediately appeared on my arm, and the burning pain was unbearable.

I bit down the pain, lowered my head, and murmured an obedient reply—I couldn’t afford to slip up even once.

Pleased by my compliance, Helen spat on the ground with a smirk.

“That’s more like it.”

“Let me remind you, you’ve already been forced into a mate bond with my son. Stop dreaming about being some princess.”

“The only thing that matters now is giving my son a pup.”

The hatred I had buried surged up again. I walked into the kitchen and took out the wolfbane I had hidden for so long.

As I watched the broth boiling in the pot, I chopped the wolfbane into pieces and threw it inside.

As night settled in, I carried the food to the table.

When I lingered, Helen kicked a chipped bowl at my feet.

“This is where you eat. A piece of trash we paid for has no right to sit at the same table as us! Know your place. You’re nothing but a broodmare meant to give us pups.”

“Get on your knees and tend to your mate.”

Neon shuffled in, slack-jawed and grinning. When he saw me nearby, he still kicked me hard and clapped his hands while laughing about how fun it was.

As if that wasn’t enough, Neon picked up the leftover soup beside him and poured the foul-smelling liquid directly into the chipped bowl.

“Eat! Eat!”

When I didn’t move, Helen grabbed her cane and slammed it hard against my back.

“Eat! Do I have to spoon-feed you?”

I desperately suppressed the urge to pull out the knife. I lowered my head and obediently picked up the bowl, drinking from it.

Only then did Helen pull Neon back.

“Come on, son. Let’s eat.”

My rough hands soaked in the disgusting soup.

The pain in my back and arms burned like fire, forcing me to stay awake.

My other hand quietly reached for the silver knife, slowly rubbing against it.

With every clink of the forks and knives, the string inside me tightened further.

“Crash!”

The bowl Helen had been holding suddenly fell to the ground, and she grabbed her stomach before collapsing.

Neon immediately stood up when he saw that, but before he could even ask what happened, he clutched his stomach and fell as well.

He looked at me, his eyes filled with anger and a trace of fear.

“You… what did you do?”

I stood up, kicked the bowl away, and pulled out the knife with a cold smile.

“What, finally dropping the act?”

Seeing me approaching with the knife, Neon was finally scared.

“Y-You… what are you doing?”

Just as I was about to make my move, Neon’s phone suddenly rang.

Before Neon could reach for it, I snatched it away.

When I saw the caller name marked “Alpha,” I raised the silver knife and pressed it against Neon’s neck.

“If you want to live, watch your tongue.”

“Otherwise, I’ll send both you and your mother straight to hell.”

Neon nodded repeatedly in fear.

I held the phone, answered the call, and turned on the recording.

The moment the recording started, Ezra’s exhausted voice came through.

“Neon, are you sure you’ve kept a close eye on Riley these days?”

Realizing something was wrong, Neon answered shakily.

“I… I have.”

“Did something happen?”

Ezra’s tone turned noticeably impatient.

“Someone reported me for kidnapping Riley.”

“The pack council doesn’t believe it, but they’ve started reconsidering transferring the shares to Camila.”

“Neon, you still haven’t found your fated mate, have you?”

Even though I vaguely sensed what he meant, I pressed the knife harder against Neon’s neck, my voice trembling slightly.

“Speak!”

Neon trembled and quickly answered.

“Not yet. Alpha, didn’t you say that if I handled this matter, you’d give me money to find my fated mate?”

Ezra answered without hesitation.

“I’ll give you double. Five hundred thousand.”

“I’m ordering you to bed her, mark her, put a pup in her.”

“I’ll handle the mate bond issue. The pack will recognize you two.”

“That way, even if our parents find Riley, they won’t give the shares to a daughter who’s been marked by a rogue.”

Every word stabbed into my heart like a silver dagger.

My own brother, for the sake of an adopted sister with no blood tie, was ordering some filthy rogue to force himself on me, get me pregnant, and lock me away forever in this dark, godforsaken mountain.

Pain and rage mixed together until the hand holding the knife trembled uncontrollably.

Neon took advantage of the moment, slammed into my arm, knocked the knife away, and sent me crashing backward.
