Reborn to Watch Him Regret Choosing My Twin Chapter 06

For the first time ever, Grey Grant smiled in the Nash house. His enunciation was textbook–perfect.

“Your sister–in–law, Clara Nash.”

“Sister–in–law.” I’d give him top marks for that delivery.

Sterling’s fists clenched at his sides. I could hear his knuckles cracking.

The two of them stared each other down, neither blinking, a silent war.

“Sterling, what are you doing home at lunch?” Mira stood up and guided him to a seat. Directly across from

me.
She smiled, explaining.

“This is Grey–Grey Grant. We all played together as kids. He even came to our wedding. You remember,

right?”

Sterling snapped back to reality at her voice.

He reassembled himself into that calm, refined mask.

“Of course. How could I forget.”

That last part came out through gritted teeth.

I suddenly remembered that bloody, two–man basketball war.

“He’s here to discuss marriage to whom?”

Mira’s smile strained. She gave his arm a subtle squeeze.

“Silly. There’s only one unmarried girl in the house. It’s not going to be me, is it?”

I couldn’t take the tension at the table anymore. I stood up.

“I’ll get the medicine.”

Something clicked in Sterling’s eyes. He must’ve remembered what I’d said that morning. His whole

demeanor cooled. He even shot Grey a smug look.

Grey’s face was blank.

But under the table, his expensive trousers were crumpled in a death grip.

When I carried the medicine out, two pairs of eyes locked onto me.

I walked slowly to the table. Sterling was already on his feet, reaching out.

I pulled back and set the bowl in front of Grey.

“Stop staying up so late. R’s hell on your stomach.”

His eyes were still cool, but when he looked at me, something bright flickered there. Like a big dog wagging its tail.

I dodged his gaze and sat beside him. It took me a second to remember the man still standing across from

us.
“No need to trouble yourself, brother–in–law. I’ve got it. I’ll make sure he takes it with food.”

The words hit him like a blade. His eyes darkened. He sat back down.

“Clara, you’re this attentive to every guy you’re set up with?”

That phrasing was loaded. I didn’t want Grey getting the wrong idea.

“Your memory’s off. This is my first time being set up with anyone.”

I was only ever this attentive with Grey. Sure, Sterling used to get that version of me. But he proved a long time ago he didn’t deserve it.

He went silent after that.

My mom scrambled to smooth things over.

“Enough of that. Today’s about the young people. Let’s hear what the two main parties think.”

At that, Grey straightened up.

“Mr. and Mrs. Nash. I’m twenty–eight. I’ve never been in a serious relationship. No hookups, no exes still texting, no drama. I’m not the type to have one foot in and one root out. My parents are still together- happily. You already know the rest. I’m here because I’m serious about Clara. Everything else is up to her.”

By the time he finished, two faces at the table had cycled from green to red.

My mom, though, looked thoroughly pleased. For this one moment, she transformed into a caring, thoughtful mother.

“Your family, we know. But even if we don’t measure up to the Grants, we won’t shortchange our daughter”

Grey nodded.

“Mrs. Nash, don’t worry. Before the wedding, I’ll transfer fifteen percent of Grant Holdings stock to Clara. Three properties in the city. A downtown penthouse, a hilltop estate, and a beachfront villa.”

“On top of that, it’s family tradition to hand over all earnings to the wife. In the event of divorce, all marital assets go to Clara. Of course, I won’t let a divorce happen.”

My mom’s satisfaction climbed with every word. She was a breath away from sealing the deal herself. She looked at me.

“Clara, what do you think?”
