My Three Roommates Used My Photos to Catfish Three Elite Alphas Chapter 10

Earlier that day, Ethan had gone to the hospital to visit my mother.

When she asked what kind of relationship we had, he actually told her outright that he was my boyfriend.

I fired back a string of question marks.

Before that, Ethan had still been willing to flirt with me and take his time trying to win me over.

Now, he clearly had no intention of pretending to take things slowly anymore.

[My online girlfriend really was one of your roommates using your photos.]

[I only started talking to her because she was using your face. You were the one who caught my attention from the very beginning.]

[I’ll admit I’m not that selfless. Paying for your mother’s treatment wasn’t entirely an act of kindness.]

[Erin, be my girlfriend.]

Immediately afterward, a transfer of fifty-two thousand dollars appeared on my phone with “Voluntary Gift” in the note.

[Whatever I gave that impostor, I’ll make it up to you tenfold. A hundredfold.]

My heart started racing as I stared at the screen, but I hadn’t forgotten the attitude I had always maintained in front of Ethan.

To remain consistent, I declined the transfer. If he truly wanted me to have the money, he should not have sent a transfer I still had to accept.

The next second, my bank account chimed with ten consecutive incoming-transfer notifications.

Each one was for fifty-two thousand dollars.

Many of the students walking past turned to look at me.

I was in a rare good mood, so I ordered an extra serving of roast beef and cheese fries for lunch.

After finishing my meal, I walked out of the building and immediately spotted Lucas standing by the roadside.

A diamond necklace glittered in the sunlight between his fingers.

His two small fangs showed as he tilted his head and looked me over.

“Just as I thought. It’ll look perfect on you.”

“You showed me around during the alumni event. This is a thank-you gift.”

I refused immediately.

“I was paid for that greeter job. I’ve already received my money.”

The smile never left Lucas’s face. Before I could stop him, he stepped behind me and fastened the necklace around my neck.

The scent of pine and citrus pressed close to the back of my neck.

“I was wrong before.”

He watched the necklace settle against my collarbone, his voice dropping lower.

“You really are nothing like her.”

I reached up to remove the necklace, but he caught my wrist.

“Take it off, and I’ll kiss you.”

I deliberately held my breath. Within seconds, my cheeks turned bright red.

“Who does something like that?”

Lucas laughed without the slightest hint of embarrassment.

“What can I say? When a guy likes a girl, he cannot always control himself.”

“We’ve only met twice.”

“Do you believe in love at first sight?”

I shook my head.

“That is just physical attraction.”

He burst out laughing.

“You could put it that way.”

Lucas offered to take me out for a meal.

I seriously wondered whether there was something wrong with his eyes.

He had just watched me walk out of a restaurant.

For a while after that, my life became easier than it had ever been.

I still had not officially agreed to date Ethan, but he and Lucas had already shifted all the care and attention they had once given Vanessa and Claire onto me.

Ethan quickly figured out what he needed to do.

Whenever he wanted to give me money, he sent it through an instant bank transfer, leaving me no chance to reject it.

Whenever he appeared while I was working at the hotel, all I had to do was sit with him, eat, and talk. I still received my full wages for the day, along with an enormous tip.

Once I returned to campus, Lucas would stay by my side instead.

At first, he only joined me for meals and walks. Later, he even insisted on coming to class with me.

Every time my three roommates saw him, their expressions soured.

Lucas had already blocked Claire and deleted her contact.

He didn’t demand that she return his gifts, but he refused to acknowledge that they had ever been in a relationship.

According to him, he had only been helping a student who was struggling financially.

Because of that, Claire hadn’t been left with a massive debt like Vanessa.

But the rumors on campus, the gossip from her classmates, and all the strange looks were enough to send her hiding in the apartment to cry every few days.

Sophia kept fishing for information about my relationship with Lucas.

I only told her that he had fallen for me the first time he saw me.

Somehow, Lucas found out that my mother was in the hospital and refused to take no for an answer, insisting on taking me to Harborview Medical Center several times.

Every single time, he claimed in front of my mother that he was my boyfriend.

Afterward, whenever Ethan visited her again, my mother would call to ask whether I was dating two men at the same time.

Perhaps Lucas’s attention toward me made Sophia feel that her position was being threatened.

She used to love showing off her online boyfriend in the apartment, but lately, she barely mentioned him at all.

Still, even if she said nothing, the comments would speak for her.
